does any one else wonder if these parts makers ever test there own product or even know what the hell it goes on?

like the guy from VA speed said there is always soo much machine work and "fixing" to get this **** to work right some times i wonder if these people who build these parts know what the hell they are doing.... /rant

So basically people really need to consider alot of the design factors when condeming something-it's easy to criticize, but hard to design something better
Who ever said that they thought you could just bolt stuff on this motor? It wasn't me and I know how much work goes into a build like this. I never condemed Jesel, and if you read my original post, I even said I know they make a good product, and I stand by that. I just know that I have read that a few people here on the site have had problems with the Jesel stuff, and as I pointed out in my above post, one of them I know the specifics, as he is a "friend" of mine.
Don't read to much into my post Shawn, as I am not criticizing at all. I think it is a great build thread on a motor that is gonna make a **** load of power. Remember, I am one of the guys that was hoping Phil stuck with the LS stuff in hopes that you guys could make it live with that much power.

I did not quote you,so i did not direct my statement toward you.It was a general statement to anyone who felt that this stuff was bolt together.

alot of people are quick to condemn a part, when actually it was used for a purpose for which it wasnt intended,or with the wrong combination of other parts.

i have no problems with your statements-now lets get back to it

Phil, what happened to the Carbon valve covers?

The "corvette" covers are alot taller than the nice cast "chevrolet" ones you almost used.

Sold the valve covers to a friend, I've always liked the Corvette C5r covers for the simple fact they have oilers already built in.

Yeah, the Corvette C5R were going to look a little odd when you remember that this is going in a Mustang with LS7 style heads.

if it don't fit-make it.Due to some deck height differences in the mock up engine for the intake, and the actual engine, the intake would have sit too high using intake gaskets making the ports not line up.So i just machined oring grooves around the intake ports solving the problem. With that done i can pretty much finish this thing up,just need to bolt down the valley cover and install the cam postion sensor.
Other than the head gaskets, there are no gaskets in this entire engine, everything else is oringed, making mantainance much, much easier and cheaper.

pretty much done

Nice machine work! Diggin' the valve covers too! I could get semi close to that o-ring groove with a fresh ball peen hammer and my lucky chisel.
