I wish I could afford it, but to do the new setup I have to be able to sell this one off. I've already got a Fast sitting on the shelf from my back to back testing so I'll be using that on the new setup.

Are there any new ones on the market that are, for the most part, plug and play?

Any updates on the current ones discussed in this thread?

^ It looks good at least. Hopefully you won't have the same problems and can get it all figured out. That's the first one I've seen good pictures of with it inside the car. (or at least what I remember)

I know this is a bit off the beating path, but would anyone know if any of these ITB intakes fit inside a FD RX7 and allow the stock hood to shut?

Im in the process of building a motor and id love to have the smooth idle of an ITB intake in the car.

i have some better ideas for intake filters even though it's going to cause me to "rearrange" some things but it should work.

Default A little different set-up

Another LS1 based ITB option.
The base manifold is an Australian design as well using (8) 2 inch throttles.
This set-up is running, but not dyno tuned yet. Damn winters!
I was impressed that it idles quite nicely with a fairly aggressive cam.
These are not quite plug & play projects, but a little basic fabrication skills and problem solving is all it takes.

LOL, I'm thinking I might need a new hood....hehehe pulled the pic it was to big. I'm looking into an ITB setup... wont happen for a while but my new combo will be needing more air than I think the ls7 intake can provide

I hear that. I know my fast is a choking point, maybe next year. Did way too much already this year, and I have on the plan sheet a joe van O hood, 3 gal fuel cell in the nose and to ditch the entire stock fuel system next year. Cut the cowl off and smooth the firewall while the motor is out getting freshened up, the k member, a arms, manual rack I didn't buy this year, redo all the wiring in the car (so much stuff gone at this point the stock harness proabbly should go) if I can get lucky enough to find a BS3 I'm gonna snag that too, and repaint the engine bay while the hood is getting done.

Yeah, I'll be running a fast again next year LOL

Oh LOL, is that it? Hell sign me up for 2 then.

That's huge $ for an intake, can anyone show that one of these makes more power then what a custom sheet metal would make?

I've seriously been considering a sheet metal, or a single plane, these intakes look neat but for that kind of $ forget about it. I don't know too many people honestly that would want to spend that much.

they seem to make decent HP and they have incredible throttle response, I havent see a comarison over a sheetmetal one but over a fast or ls7 intake I think they said 55 hp and tq.

55 hp over a fast or an ls7? That's quite a bit, so much that it's got to be crank hp.

I would like to see one of those compared to a good sheet metal, hell a billet intake like what tom Kemph had on his lsx shoot winning car, that intake is about 6000 to buy, so it would be an accurate comparison.

I wonder how a nitrous setup would work with that intake as well, obviously has to be a DP.... wonder how that would work.

Peak for peak with a sheetmetal would probably be the same, I would imagine the low end loss would be much, much less for a ITB though. These are not for drag cars, these are street car/ road race manifolds. These excel if a car needs to run in a wide rpm range. JMHO

That's what I figured. Personally, with a 5000+ rpm converter, I don't see any need to care about what happens below 5000, only time it's there is staging, the return road and loading/unloading the trailer, all of which can be done with a lawnmower engine for all intensive purposes.

Yeah, the only problem with the sheetmetal, is I don't have any faith in a plate type nitrous kit working all that well on one. So, I will have to do a Dp setup at the same time, making it a rather expensive setup, almost as bad as these ITB's, figure 3000 for a good sheetmetal and another 1000 for a Dp.

Not cheap, but it would probably pick up 30 rwhp n/a and I could spray alot more then the little 150 I am now thru the fast via a Nos plate.

That's an awesome setup! Do you have any more pictures or details at this point?
