Default Soild Roller Lsx down on power

Here The setup
etp 245 heads
Vic jr with an elbow
Lq9 412ci give or take 2 cubes for get exact bore
12.5 to 1 comp
266/268 680/690 lift soild roller
Jessel Rockers
th-400 with a 5200 Extream Converter Concepts

had the car a few time to the track go the converter problem fixed threw it back on the dyno to see why its only traping 129 in a 3350 race weight car. First thought i had the valve adjusted to tight .006 on the intake .008 on the exhaust. talk to Erik from hk and he told me that isent where the power was being lost. car only made 440sae rwhp @ 6600 rpms then starts falling. this car should pull to at least 7300... i adjusted the valves @ .016 now and .018 dont think it made a huge diff but worth a try....im just outa ideas and geting fed up with the car.....did a comp test and every cly was 155-158 across the board

Could be something drivetrain wise. Pushrods rubbing, valve float, etc.... Have a dyno graph we could look at?

this should probably be in internal engine, not really adv tech

our 400 inch hyd cam setups have no problem going to 77-8200 rpm, look at the top end somewhere. Who picked the cam/springs/valvetrain and assembly?

Your definitely down 5 mph from our hyd stuff and should be a few more on top of that with solid roller and that compression. Im guessing you were expecting 138 mph traps or so?

The compression psi is weak. You definitely have something wrong. with 12.5:1 you should be seeing easily 220 psi.

Rings washed out...etc.

Get me your phone number via PM and I can get you in touch with someone that can diagnose your problem. Need more info on valvesprings, retainers, etc.

all plugs looked good ...rings r gaped for a large amount of n2o use for future plans.....i read with cams with larage overlaps that the compression test will be low like that

Does the motor have an adjustable timing set on it? Any chance the cam sproket could have shifted messing with the cam advance or something?

I agree with WOTFMAN, the compression does seem quite low. Even with that big of a cam, with a 12.5:1 compression, you should be seeing at a minimum 185-190psi and thats stretching it. You should try a leak down test on all cylinders.

it really seems like those heads should carry the power a lot further as well. also if erik set up the valvetrain it should be right, but you might want to check the cam and make sure it isnt off a few degrees.
