That doesn't sound like too bright of an idea. It'll just make it harder to see at night

Might work.. but the vettes and lexus and many other brands dont have the light in the same way as F-body. Mercedes uses a lcdmonitor for their gauges.

you'd have to make it so the cluster is lit any time the vehicle is running. It's not terribly hard to do but any "smoking" you'd do would have to be mild. I would suggest using a piece of tint, maybe 50% or so.

i put 20% tint on my cluster peice and it worked fine, it was hard to see in day time, but at night with the lights on it was great, you could see the guages with ease, and when the car was off it looked sleeker, and simpler. i sold that car, and got another one, and i'll be doing the same thing to this one aswell i loved the look of it.

Cool idea, but do it right. If you just VHT it and then turn up the brightness it'll look like *** IMO.

i bought some window tint from advanced auto and did mine in my red firebird. the light shined through fine, even with the brigness turned down, and it was with 20% tint.

i havent looked at the pinouts of the harness but if u supply 12v key on voltage to the cluster alone and bypass the factory illumination then u would have lights all day... but i havent looked at the diagrams yet but i bet it could be done................. or better yet a reverse indaglo gauge overlay..

I was going to do that, but couldn't find an orange or red reverse glow. I say it will look cool either way, and as long as the cluster is lit I don't see any problems.

The Infiniti's are like that as well. I think it is pimp and would like the sleek look it would provide.
