If your car is still under warranty I'd take it back to the dealer and raise some more hell. Whatever SLP puts on the car passes GM inspection for the reasons that GM *MUST* honor the warranty on any OEM SLP parts.

I thought LED's last nearly forever???
The third light on my SS is crapping out!
The bulbs are going out....
Upon inspecting the part I see it is made in taiwan..... WTF?? oh well I guess Even SLP uses some cheap parts!!!
Looks like I'm going to have to replace it.... been to the dealer....(told me it was over a $100)they told me they can't get it I have to get it from SLP!
So I went on SLP's site and entered the part number, No product by that number... WTF?(guess they changed the part number)
The real pisser is I took it out and took it to a LEd specialty shop..... they confirmed my belief they the piece was poorly made!!!
So now what?
(IMO,it just the way of the world these days, cut corners!) <img src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" border="0">

Re: I thought LED's last nearly forever???
No problem... I've talked with SLP at length about warranty issues and the whole idea is that GM will certify the parts that SLP installs, which is why SLP parts like the Loudmouth can not be installed as OEM parts.
GM Dealers will often try to make it seem as if there's some sort of loop hole but in reality all parts have been GM certified and should be unconditionally covered under warranty.
Just go raise hell, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. <img src="gr_stretch.gif" border="0">

You bought the SS from Gm not SLP. It has a full warranty. the LED brake light has a GM part #, Your dealer must warrenty the part. I have a 99 SS and the about 3 of the led are out, but I will not take my car back to a dealer.

Camaro SS, Actually if you look at the part you'll see it has an SLP # and acording to the dealer I'm stuck with that number doesn't reference into they're catalog of parts.... dunno if it's true, but that's what I was told
I hate taking my car to the dealer. They always seem to put a few miles on it(I'm sure those are just easy cruising miles too <img src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" border="0"> <img src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> <img src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> ) They alwayz have it all day to do a 40 min. project. AAARRRGGGHHHH!
I'm gonna try to get them to order me the part... Save my 120 dollars for mods! Then I'll tell them I'm to busy to leave it with them..... Maybe I'll get them to give me the part so I can do it myself! we'll see!!!

Re: I thought LED's last nearly forever???
Yeah i got a price of like $150 bucks or so when i looked at replacing the one on my 98. Next time im going to the dealership late at night with my #15 torx bit. Haha. Actually, id ask a PC board shop how much they would charge to make like 25 of them. Might make a few bucks selling them on these sites.
