Pics of SS w/ Convo Pros!
I finally got the wheels and tires mounted and balanced today at Lane's. I think it looks pretty nice. After having the Weld Pro Stars and Draglites on my T/A and now putting the Convo Pros on my SS, I would NEVER run the Weld wheels again! The Convo Pros bolted right up without ANY grinding whatsoever, and the wheels can be ordered so that they'll tuck up under the fenders more. Here's what I have:
15x4" with 1.75" BS on the front w/ VW radials
15x7.5" with 5.5" BS on the rear with Hoosier 26x9x15" slicks
Weights:
15x4" Convo Pro with radial: 26 lbs. each
15x7.5" Convo Pro with Hoosier tire: 30 lbs. each
17x8" Boyd Coddington Timeless 5 with Nitto 555 Extreme 245/45/17" tire: 46 lbs.
M/T ET Street 26x11.5x16" tire mounted on stock 16x8" Camaro wheel with tube: 42 lbs.
Total weight saved: 64 lbs. of rotational weight!
I can have the car at 3,540-3,550# if I get there will very little gas. I'm going to drive it around quite a bit tomorrow and Friday to run the tank dry, weather permitting. I posted one pic below; others can be found on my web page. Let me know what you think!

It was ~$930 for the wheels, Hoosiers, and lugnuts, and the skinnies and M/B was another $74. So, you're looking right at $1,000 even once it's all said and done.

HOLY **** thats gonna look SO much better when its lowered about an inch. Looks niiicie now, but not quite FINE yet. now, on the lowering thing. I dont know if you can adjust ride height with an other-than-HAL spring up front so this may be a non-valid suggestion. Eibach Pro Kit + front HAL's (with TR perches) + stock rear shocks + swaybar + LG relocation brackets. Thats what I'd do. You could go a little further and put the stock springs back up front if they extend a bit easier.

Trevor D that looks AWESOME!
What color is your car? Almost looks like a Maroon Red or Cayenne Red but they didn't make those for the SS did they?
Again, the rims look great!

HAHA! I wasn't sure if I liked the centercaps or not, so I used them on the skinnies and left them off on the rear. I'll probably put them on at the track to see what it looks like.
It was nice to meet you as well, and thanks for the help on the wheels and tires. It's WELL worth the drive to know that it was done right.
ShooterSS - It does have a cayenne red look to it when the sun isn't out. If you look at the other pics on my site with the car in the sun, it really brings the orange out.

That does look sweet Trevor. I will agree with you on the color of the car, it will really change depending on whether it is sunny or dark or cloudy. I still love the color.

Im gonna have to throw this out there. I met Lane and was there during the whole thing, and if youre in the DFW area and are looking to do new wheels/tires/slicks/whatever, talk to Lane. Quality and service are second to none

no spacers tony. i think they look great. kinda limiting as far as tire/wheel width, but that 26x9.5" slick shouldnt have too many traction problems. Centerline just needs to make a 15x9" or 9.5" with 6.5 or 7" of BS.

You've got that right! I think I'll be able to run this wheel/tire setup for quite a while. I'm not planning on anything more than heads/cam in the short-term foreseeable future, so they'll work just fine. I'll just need the suspension working well so I don't have to solely rely on a sticky tire to get the job done.
2000 Camaro SS - I bought the wheels and Hoosiers from Summit Racing. (800)230-3030 The skinnies came from Lane's Wholesale Custom Wheel and Tire in Irving, TX, and that's where they were M/B as well. Lane has great prices and excellent service! (972)986-8366
Tony - Yeah, I'll put the centercaps on when I bolt the rears back up at the track. And to answer your question, no, spacers aren't needed.
