If you want projectors (which is recommended), look in the Lighting FAQ.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearance-detailing/710357-lighting-faq.html

If you just want to replace the stock bulbs in the stock housings with HID (not recommended), get a 9006 HID kit for the low beam.

Alright guys I've skimmed about 7 pages of this thread. But I didn't see anybody with a firebird/formula say they did hids. Do y'all have any info for me? Looking to do hid fogs.

I guess you didn't see my Sig or look in the Lighting FAQ.

I have Hella 90mm H9 projectors with modified cut-off shields and 55 watt 4500K H9 HID kit.

Its in the Lighting FAQ along with other setups. The BLS kits are there too. BLS is working on a new HID projector kit for the Firebird.

Also, this thread is about HID in the Firebird so there are plenty of posts in this thread about Firebirds with HID (the Firebird/Formula/Trans Am are all the same car with the same headlights for the same years 1993-1997, and 1998-2002).

Ah ok I'll keep on searching. I already got my lows set up. Just trying to get my fogs done now. Burnt through two set of fog light casings so far...

FFS get projectors... Easy to install ... great cutoff line.. safe?

p.s. I have 100w HID's in my high beams... just because I can. Thats more for the whole 'out in the middle of f**king nowhere' though, got to be real careful with them.

So for low beams and fog HIDs for a TA, i'll need:

1. lmc truck light part # 36-0302
2. 880 head/fog light kit (from the supervtec ebay seller)
3. H7 ballast (from the same ebay seller)

Is this all? Will I need anything else? I'm definitely a beginner at this sort of thing, so please keep that in mind. Also, with these 3 items, will i be able to upgrade to projector HIDs later?

Thanks in advance for your help

Why not do it right with projectors the first time?

In this thread I listed the part numbers with some pics. The light output is better then the stock lights.

Quick question, I'd love to do this to my 97 T/A. Ordering the same fogs will fit correctly? Also since I have a single 'bulb' when my flip up, I'm pretty sure its a dual bulb for low/high?

Anyways, if I just run FOGS, It is 'legal' to run like that since its brighter than most cars on the road so technically I should be okay? I live in Cali so I'm not quite sure on the law about that.

Didn't want to order from guy above who posted his list because of the shipping from I'm guessing England

Looking to do this to my 2000 ws6

Just want to make sure I'm doing this right

I would buy the two kits stated on supervtec's ebay page

I would then also purchase the truck housings previously posted.

Do I need to find a separate place to buy a replay that has been somewhat mentioned throughout this thread? Seems like some people said they needed it but the OP doesn't say anything about it?

When I first got these housings, I used regular lamps. As I recall, the low beam bulbs needed the 90 degree version of the 9006 lamp. There was also some re-working of the buckets.

When I went to the HID's, I just wired the ballast feeds from the original stock headlight harness, no relay or separate power feed needed.
