Write-Up: Non-Projector HIDs for Firebird/Trans Am
#61
This might be a stupid question, but is it really that hard to buy replacement headlight units for ~10 dollars, plug in the new HID's and seal that properly? Isn't that a lot easier than spending $70 for the Euro headlight conversion? Or am I missing something really obvious?

I'm sure the quick ON/OFF which happens when locking the doors isn't good for the HIDs, but its not really that quick of a flash.

My friend has HID's on his 02 SS and it does look badass, but the last thing I need is to make my car more of a cop magnet with ultra bright low beams. However, I do like the HID fog lights, maybe I will look into that. Visibility with the regular low beams suck (still on the OE lights and bulbs).

OK But the euro housings are to big how in the heck did you get it to work? Did you use your old sealed beam housings which is what I did the only problem is the glass lens in front scatters the beam.

Yeah it looks killer I to have an hid kit for the fogs but I'm going to switch to glass housings on the fogs. This is so annoying trying to find 4703 replacement housings.

One thing to do with the factory fogs is to turn the adjustment screw in to tilt the light up as much as possible. This increases the throw of the lightbeam. The first 10 feet of light is totally wasted since you can't even see the road because of the hood.

ok, I got my fogs in, and the H7 kit as well...how long do I have to wait until my housings are in?? I ordered them before I ordered the H7 kit. And I haven't heard anything from eurolights about my order status...Is this normal??
