Its Over for ME!
Well, being an f-body owner is over for me. This past Monday the 5th of January 2009, I traded in my 2000 Trans Am for a 2009 G8. It was very tough to see it go, but the G8 is amazing.
So, I probably won't be posting here too much more, not that anyone gives a sh**, but i figured I'd say my goodbyes. haha
The last picture i took of my car:
And a shi**y pic of the G8:
If anyone cares, maybe i'll post up some better pics.

You know, the car was certainly fun, but, for me, it just got to be kinda annoying to be driving EVERY day, especially in NJ weather. I was having some trouble codes come on every now and then (which the dealership didnt know about, haha), my transmission was showing its age, but mostly it was the comfort thing. I loved the car, i took some pics, i kissed it goodbye, and then took one of the saddest videos in my life of it driving away forever. But, i love my G8, its classy, refined, powerful, and comfortable. I myself, like only two types of cars:
1. sporty, manual transmission cars
2. powerful sedans (my dream is either a S63 AMG, or W12 A8L... and of course a G8 GT, haha)
I also didnt wana pass up the great trade in value they gave me; $7000. KBB private party value was about that or less.

Damn.. that's depressing The day I saw my Camaro drive away, the heavens opened up, lol. Definitely one of the saddest days of my life. Some people don't understand the bonds we create with these cars, they say "it's just a car."
Anyway man, good luck with the G8, I love them too. You should still hang around as there are a bunch of G8 owners on here and you could still get some help if need be, but it's your choice. Have fun with it

damn. sucks that you had to get rid of the TA, but as long as you stuck w/ an ls powerplant (or l76 if you wanna be technical) you can stick around. i'll try not to brag about me having the best of both worlds, TA and G8.
As for you keeping up w/ the GTO,.....get used to it! only the ls1's tho. I've raced two ls2's, one a4 one a6, auto i jumped off the line but he pulled me @ top of 2nd. m6 didn't catch me till 3rd then pulled by easily,...prolly !driver mod tho.
Expect to be keeping up w/ tons of cars you wouldn't expect to. The G8 is a beast off the line, and I'm sure its crazy w/ a stall, bolt ons, and a tune! Plenty of potential there to ease the pain from your loss of your TA. Good luck!

Thank you for all the replys. I will have a nice have a nice little photoshoot soon. My buddy is very into photography. he's got a lot of cool equipment. He wants to do some rolling shots. But, right now I'm actually on vacation in Hollywood, FL. I'm missing my new car .
As for the trade-in value, No i did not try to sell it privately. I really didnt think I would get more than 7000 anyway. MAYBE from the right person, but then that involves waiting around. This was the exact G8 I wanted. Had every option available, the color i wanted, and the 19" wheels. There were no other G8s like it within a 100 miles of me. My trans am had slome problems that a regular person probably wouldnt have liked.
1: No A/C
2: 3 seperate trouble codes (air pump, knock sensor, theft deterent)
3: terrible gear whine at almost all speeds.
4: transmission WAS NOT SHIFTABLE in weather below 30ish. And if youre going to beat on it, it needed to be VERY warm.
5: Headlight had just stopped popping up
6: my 18s were completely ruined and my 16s were almost the same and had drag radials on them. (I still have them, thinkking about selling)
I'm probably gonna get **** for this. I know some of you will say they were all minor issues. haha. I had my fun though, maybe some day i'll own another.... or a Corvette
