OK....

sorry for the dry spell....no updates sucks, and really i don't have anything to report yet. progress has been slow to due to work being slow and i've been fishing a lot lately. I've also been playing around with my new welder, welding pop cans and razor blades together

however, i DID pick up a new laptop and install HP Tuners on it. i've been tinkering with the software and learning the ins and outs. This stuff is pretty damn challengeing, but i'm really enjoying messing around with it. I haven't really made any significant progress tuning on the car until today. It was pretty rich and didn't want to idle very well. i made some histograms and recorded some data and then plugged it into the tune file. after i uploaded the new tune (with only some minor, not-perfect adjustments) the car didn't want to start right away, but when it fired without dying it shot right to the commanded RPM and stayed there. it was pretty lean for some reason but idled GREAT for a while.

Point is, the tuning is very challenging but even the slightest progress feels very rewarding. i'm really into it and am devoting as much time as possible after work to play with it. I haven't eaten dinner before 8:30 all week because i come home, shower, and go straight to the garage

by the way....the 6LE gauges and needles still look kickass with my cd player and everything. i know i haven't posted any pics but i promise i'll get it done this week.

ok...just phone pics for now, my camera battery died...

gauges aren't totally re-assembled, but you get the idea...6LE overlay with white S86 needles and my kickass blue odometer BIG thanks to Mark and Mike at 6LE Designs for this setup

factory cd player, HVAC panel, ASR switch, and Foglight switch all sporting new blue LEDs....the cd player appears to have a couple buttons brighter than others in the pic...not sure why, that's not the case in person.

I've got a question, why didn't you opt for the 200 mph speedo? With that 454 you might need it

I thought the 200 mph gauges were discontinued?

Do you have another shifter ball? The white just stands out to much to me.

I think a black with blue flame flameball would be sick

I wish I could have got the 200mph gauges but I didn't have the extra coin for the calibration fee.

As for the shifter ball, I agree it does stand out a bit but I kind of like the retro look it has.

Looking good!

I recommend using these for the HVAC, they will brighten things up a bit. Also, did you use those 6SMD lights for the gauges?

That's actually what I have in there. The pics make the dash and gauges look darker for some reason. The gauge lights are also 6smd bulbs. I spent over $100 at superbrightleds.com one week...then a little more the next week

Oh gotcha. Leds tend to look better in person than in pictures. I know how you feel about the spending. Once I converted a couple lights to leds on my car, I just had to convert the rest! lol

I've been busy all week, haven't had time for the ss much. I did a little logging sunday evening but was cut short when I ran out of fuel...I'm hoping to do some tuning tomorrow and this weekend because next week I'm going to a powerplant south of dallas somewhere for a week to ten days for some field service. When I get back, tires will be ordered and the car will be finished quickly, if nothing comes up...
