Default 93-97 Headlights

Just wondering what style bulb comes in the trans am head lights for the lt1? I can find all these replacements that come w/ the housing but nowhere can I find what bulb it uses. I've been looking to go hid and a lot of people use 9006 style but i dont know if thats what the housings accept for my car? Also what about the fog lights? I think they are 880 but I'm not sure.

Your Lows/Highs are "H4666" and yes your fogs are 880. There are plug and play HID kits for your fog lights, but your low beams are sealed beam kits. Which means the WHOLE thing is your headlight, not just a bulb.

You can either fabricate your own projector headlights into them for the best possible lighting, or:

1. Rip apart your stock headlight assembly and put an HID kit in that way, or
2. Get a sealed beam conversion kit from eurolamps.com

Or if you wanna go the easy way, get some Sylvania Silverstar replacements. You can find them at your auto store, and their whiter and pretty bright, but not like HIDs.

I'm pretty sure the LT1's are the same as LS1's as far as headlights go.. If i'm wrong someone correct me

The Fogs are 885's, but you can use an 880, 885, or 893 for it. I just put some different 893's in my fogs, so they'd light up a bluish color. I also took the bulbs out of my sealed beam housings, and got some 6000k 9006 bulbs for them. They fit perfectly in the Camaro's housings (Wagner H4351's). I'm not sure of how well it'd work on the T/A's though. I'm not happy with the 6000k's though, so I just ordered a pair of 10000k 9006's that should be here later this week. Hopefully they'll give me the deeper blue color I'm looking for.

If you don't like the bluish tint, I wouldn't go with 8000k. It's pretty blue. If you don't want the bluish color, go with 6000k, or lower.

8000K will be a cool blue. If you want white, go with 6000K or lower like stated. The most popular HID kits will offer 6000K as white. If you ever need to look up a light in your car, go to sylvania.com I myself have the Eurolamp housings with an HID kit hooked up to them.

How well are you liking yours? I'm thinking of going with an HID kit before spring/summer. But, everywhere I see, people say to stay away from putting HID's in projector housings.

I have a 9006 kit that is 4300k which is the whitest light you can go with on the light spectrum.

It's used, has relay harness (so you don't fry your electrical system on startup of the lights) and slim ballasts.

If anyone wants it, let me know, I have pics too.

I love my HIDs. The only reason people say to stay away from them in reflector housings is because they cause some glare. All I did was aim my headlights down. I can see a million times better now over stock. I didn't feel like fabbing up a projector system and the HID kits I got were $70 shipped at the time.

And like integraxtc stated, if you want pure WHITE light, 4300K is the brightest, whitest light in the Kelvin spectrum.

I corrected that for you. You had reflector and projector confused. You shouldn't put HID in Halogen Reflector housings.

correcto!!!

but hey lots of them do it, and I have a hid kit for sale.

I used to have them in my Integra, but those came w/ halogen projectors, and had a respectable cut-off.

You can either get the kit from Eurolamps, that will give you the housings, and lights. Or, I found this kit on eBay too. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/95-97...Q5fAccessories. Or, I found these sweet halo housings on there too, that I wish they had for a Camaro housing. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/6-x4-...Q5fAccessories. If you get those housings, you'll probably have to get this adapter too. But, the kit I gave the link to already comes with them. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H4666...Q5fAccessories

^ Ah is that the adapter for the factory headlight power/ground plug? I just cut mine off and crimped on blade connectors. Overall, I think that HIDs in reflector housings aren't the best way to go at all, but it was the easiest thing for me to do, and I can see way better. Not the best, but it works.
