Default Carbon Fibre Ashtray Switch Panel And More!!

While waiting for my bottom end parts to arrive i decided to start on some interior touches on the car... first one is a Carbon Fibre Ashtray Switch Panel...

The Top Left switch is going to control fuel pump #1, Top Right is for Fuel Pump #2, Bottom Left is going to be for my line lock, and bottom right is going to be for the 2step...

onto the pics!

With the top open

Top Closed to hide them if need be

Thats looks awesome! If you did happen to make it, where did you get the carbon fiber? Im actually in the process making the exact same panel, along with many others, for my car, only im using ABS.

not a fan of CF myself...

BUT.. i made a ABS panel for the spot next to my lighter.. im putting 4 switches in it.. then where the lighter went, i took it out.. made the lighter hole a little bit bigger and put a switch in it...

i think it looks much cleaner, more of a stock look..

will get pics if you want..

i think the metal was the worst IMO, the steel colour didnt really blend with anything so i painted it gloss black and then it was to shiny. Might work alright if it was flat or semi-gloss. The textured ABS i had looked pretty nice and factory like, but i really like the CF haha

yea mine was like brushed looking, but dirty.. i would have sprayed in semigloss or something..

the abs i had was somewhat tectured also.. came out of interior from a 3rd gen.. looks factory just about..

i actually think CF would look too nice in my car.. mine is more of a drag car..

next im doing my cup holder... no switch or anything... im going to just do a piece of abs plastic cut exctly for that size.. and then stick it on there with some type of adhesive.. i will probably put some type of decal or something on it.. havnt decided on that yet..

i just think the cup holder looks dumb...

just because its a drag only car dosent mean things cant look nice

and yea that cupholder is pretty useless on a M6 car anyways since your arm pretty much rests right over it for the most part.

i know.. but i just dont think it fits with the theme too well.. i like it simple.. in a pretty car i think i might like it...

i actually have an a4.. all i use it for is my phone sometimes.. but i dont care.. would look cool with a decal or something on it...
