Dick Harrell Front Bumper Project (tons of pics)
hey sorry guys, been really busy the past few weeks and haven't had time to work on the bumper. BUT, just set up my work space in the garage and I'm getting started in 5 minutes after I print out some more reference pics.

6LE, what i would have to do is buy the kit in pieces and then have them sit there until i could re-paint the whole car in a lighter blue. I have not the $ to buy it all and paint it @ one time.

not sure why, probably the angle of the camera but the lip in front of the fog light looks like it's sticking out a bit too far.
I really wish I had a real DH bumper in front of me to work with, it's so hard to do this just having pictures for examples.
This weekend:
Need to fine-tune the shape, work on the tip of the nose and the top half should be pretty much done
As far as the bottom goes, I'm probably going to blend it somehow to the bottom of the original bumper.

Your lip by the foglight is sticking out more, but it looks better IMO. Great project man, I really like it, awesome work. I think it would look wicked with a recessed powdercoated billet grille.
thx. yea i might just buy one of those ebay grills so we can all get a better idea of how this looks.

If you're talking about the black grill, I just threw that on there for pictures
If you're talking about the bumper, I plan on leaving it as it is so we can either put a a bowtie grill on there like the dick harrell cars or cut the middle out and put a recessed a grill like the sunoco cars

but like i said b4 the fiberglass is not going stick 2 the urethane bumper good
once it get in the sun will look like its popping off
u have 2 different materials fiberglass and urethane
one is flexible and the other is ridged
and stay away from BONDO brand

So the bumper probably isn't up to the task for being on a car; it'd probably crack. Just my guess. Hope that helps.

Very nice, im gonna buy a used 93-97 bumper and try this since the one i have is cracked at the bottom lip.
I bet if you wanted to actually use the bumper, you could fiber glass over the whole thing and it would hold up just fine... hopefully you won't get into a fender-bender or something.
He's not going to be putting this bumper he's making on a car I don't think. He's going to use it to make a mold and have a urethane one made from what I gather...
