Lots of questions of HID's in fogs lately, well, here ya go
I've been wanting to get HID's for my fogs for a while now, as I have a 6000k kit for my headlights. After reading all of the recent threads here about people asking about having them in the fogs, I figured I'd just go ahead and buy a set.
I bought 6000k so they would match my headlights, and they look pretty good.
The light output from the fogs is pretty decent, better than stock. I didn't expect them to be much better since our foglights are halogen projectors, but I like how they look now. If your really wanting a good difference, I'd recommend getting xenon projector housings to replace ours.
Now all I need to do is get projectors for the headlights.
And since everyone wanted to see pics of how these would look, here ya go. Theyre pretty crummy pictures but you get the idea. The lights are actually a little whiter in person as well, but there is a blue tint to them.

The only downside I see to putting HIDs in the fogs is you lose the yellower light that is helpful in the fog. That's one reason I've stuck with halogens in my fogs right now and have HID projectors for my headlight low beams.

[QUOTE=VIP1;11120208]Can you post wall shots so we can see the beam pattern?
I was trying to last night but since I live in an apartment complex with no garages I didnt have a white wall to pull up to. I pulled up to a concrete wall like the one in the parking garage where I took the pics but the camera wasn't picking up the pattern. I'll try again when I get a chance and see if I can get some.
Heres a shot of the headlights on too. Notice why I say I need to buy projector headlights lol. Its actually not terrible, I mean even the fogs look like they have glare in the pictures but they don't. Its just how the camera picks it up. Either way, I still want projectors.
One other thing I should note about the foglights. The ballast didnt have any way for the stock foglight plug (wire) to "click" into it. It just pushes in and will hold, but can be pulled right out. What I did was get long zip ties and go from over the connector to the bottom of the ballast, to hold the plug in. You'll see what I mean if yours are designed the same as mine, its hard to explain.
Also, since there is no way to know which way the stock harness should plug into the ballast, you need to make sure you get the polarity correct or you can damage the ballast. The foglight harness has a dark grey wire, and a colored wire. On mine, the colored wire went closest to the label side of the ballast. Again, you'll see what I mean if you get them.

We'll I've been seriously looking into a retrofit, but I saw a post on here that some of the new ebay projectors are actually xenon projectors with h4 clips, so all I would need to do is buy new bulbs to fit, and they cost about the same as getting the parts for a retrofit. I guess now I'm just waiting for a good review of those premade lights.

H1 bulbs. I have those in my car. They work pretty good. That is, if you and I are referring to the same projectors lol.
I also have a set that uses H3 bulbs for sale for cheap - and comes with 6000k H3 HID bulbs but no ballast - but I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for. I preferred them over stockers but they aren't too great driving through a blizzard lol due to the narrower beam the H3 projector makes. That's the main reason I replaced them with what I have now.

What brand HID's did you go with? I'm assuming you got the entire package with the wire harness for each of the bulb sets? How cluttered is it around your lights with all those converter boxes and wires? That was my big concern when looking into getting these.. I was looking at these kits - http://www.xenoneyes.com/index.html
