Camaro Guys, anyone try Firebird fenders?
The one thing that really ruins it for me when it comes to camaros are the Malibu-esque Fender/mirror Gradation. Makes me wanna puke everytime i see it. Just looks outta place on an otherwise beautiful car. I always liked camaros of course, but thought this was a huge design mistake. So, since i know they'll bolt on, i was wondering if anyone has ever tried firebird fenders? I know the lines dont match up, i mean factory bolt holes do by bolt up. I was wondering if anyone has modified firebird fenders, like the lt1, or just modified the camaro fenders. Post pics or if my thread inspires you, post a ink to your build.

I had the same thought, and even went as far as picking up a wrecked fender off a T/A to try out. There is a "step" between the two vents, which lines up with an indent on the door panel of the TA. The Camaro obviously doesnt have the indent on the doors, so it would look really out of place. Ive considered moving the vents to the camaro fender, but I have a few other ideas im looking at to try and liven up the dull camaro sides instead. Perhaps if you got the fenders, and the doors from a TA, then it would be a much easier swap, otherwise youre looking at a decent amount of work to make the transition from the TA fender to the camaro door.
There was a post not long ago, with a video of a guy that put the Corvette vent onto the camaro fender, but he didnt extend the lines onto the door panel, so it looked REALLY out of place. Basically just looked like someone cut a hole in the fender. Im sure you could make it work, but it would take a lot of work to be done tastefully.

I totally forgot about the whole step. I guess you could smooth it out with plastic body filler but that would probably be a lot of work. Or like you said, just put on a firebird door skin along with it. Could work.

Hey! Calm down! LOL Im just saying if i had a camaro i would try to eliminate the gradating fender that leads to the mirror. I dont think you necessarily need Firebird fenders, i just thought maybe that would be one way to do it.
Has anyone just trimmed/customized their stock fender?
