Taking off Camaro Grill ??

Taking off Camaro Grill ?? Looks kinda difficult...i tugged on it slightly but did not want to break anything. How should I go about doing this? (its the front grill in between the front corner lenses)

Re: Taking off Camaro Grill ?? It is tuff! The sides just snap out, they have a little slot that they slide out of. The bottom center is going to be your problem. I am not sure if you will have to take the front bumper off or not but on the bottom center of the grill are these three little rubber notches that go up through the bumper. These little rubber notches are attached on the inside of the bumper. On the other side of the bumper you have to slide these little metal snaps off of the the grill's rubber notch, then you can slide it out. I have enclosed a small diagram that might explain this better.

You see you have to take off these metal snaps, so that you can seperat the grill from the front bumper. If ya get that taken care of, then it just slides out! GOOD LUCK!!

Re: Taking off Camaro Grill ?? I just yanked it off clean. The clips just take some muscle to get off. Then I bought a grill insert from RK Sport, or you can get the carbon fiber one from DG Motorsport

AAFloyd: Your painted grill looks killer. Is that a different grill than stock or is that the original piece? Are u able to pull that piece out or is it actually attached to the car?

Re: Taking off Camaro Grill ?? You guys are correct. I paint for a living, i filled in the letters and the clips with a plastic filler called 40/40 and sanded smooth. Thats got a yellow pearl, good guess... I wanted the stock look to it, but with a custom look to it...I have the top painted black, its a hardtop and i have a slight red pearl in it too, i love it.

Re: Taking off Camaro Grill ?? BLAZINREDLS1 ---- Looks good! I like the whole part of the front grille being taken off. Was there a lot of bondo work envolved. I would like to do something similiar to my car, but not exactly the same. Other question was about the two air holes (revealed now, usually up under the factory grille) Did you do anything about the black foam behind them, or did you just leave it. I have heard some people say they cut holes in that black foam and others say they left it alone. Please e-mail me back at AAFloyd@AOL.COM or just reply.......THANKS
