Thanks!

One question...

I heard there was another way to do it without cutting the wires, is that true?

Yes, its true..

Way #2 - involves making holes large enough to pass the connectors through. Look at the connectors and you will get an idea of how large the hole needs to be.

Way #3 - well you have to know what your doing but you can take apart the connector and re-assemble them on the on the other side of the hole. I do believe this involves a special tool.

Personally, while I know the "cut the wire method" seems scary its really not that bad if you take your time and have a plan. And the smaller hole is much better looking (imo). Whatever way you decidet the basic idea on that link is the same.

Good luck,

I think I'm going with way #3, all you need is a heavy sewing needle to get the terminals out of the connectors.

The only question then is wheter or not the wires are long enough. Are they?

The wires should be long enough if you keep the hole for them to go through the fender as close to the strut support as possible. I just did the mod w/o cutting and it was a pretty straight forward, however, I had to stretch my wires as I made the hole a little too close to the fender portion of the engine compartment.

you just need a sewing needle, i have 2 of the special tools if somebody needs to borrow them, (just pay shipping both ways)

here is all you need to copy though, a needle will work fine.

hope that helps

this is my car and the 'no cut wire' method.

also did a few twists of my own... hid all 4 grounds from the engine bay while i was at it.. and did the same thing on the passenger side.
