Default Got Kumhos? Come in....

I just ordered my rims from Tire Rack. 18" SSR's.
I want to go with Kumho, 275/35/18 Supras, and I don't like the quotes i'm getting. Where did you guys go, and how much did you pay?? America's Tire is telling me $881 for a set of four.

I've got the Kumho Ecsta-Supra 712's. But 17's, not 18's. I got the four of mine for $550 from a tire place near my house.

Well that price sounds about right. I have 265/40-17's on the front and 275/35-18's in the rear on my car and the total for everything, like mounting, balancing, free replacement and the usual stuff from Discout Tire cost $737.11, tax included.

I'm most likely going to get one from there! Thanks Steve!
Now I might finally have two things that match..
License Plate frame + bowtie bolts! As it is now though, I have the rims on order, and no tires...
Oh jeez, here I go again!

Hey Jon, I think you were one of the interested parties when I had my 18"s SSR Integrals up for sale at LS1.com (early last month) screename: geoffrey98ls1. I've been inquiring Tirerack about a set of GT3s SSR in 18"s and I've been told they are out of stock until late June 02. It's extremely hard to get any correct info from Tirerack about larger diameter sizes and fitment for the F-body.

Anyway I was wondering if you knew something different about there availability?

Which SSR style and size did you end up going with?

I've since giving up on the GT3s in 18"s to become availible and I'm now looking into Racing Harts M5 or Anteras 309 but I'd still would go with the SSRs if they were availible.

Do you know anything about it?

Geoffrey

BTW I can probably get you a better deal on Kuhmos Esta 712s from tirerack if you're interested. I bought my set awhile ago 275-35-18 but I do believe they have since gone up in price.

Let me know if you're interested!

The Tire Rack has them for $158 each. They've actually gone down in price. They used to be $164 in that size.

Wouldn't it be easier to have Tire Rack mount and balance the tires and wheels and send them to you?

Geoffrey

Ya that was me that was interested in your wheels a while back. I'm going with the SSR Integrals, not the absolutely gorgeous GT3's. Too much bling for this 24 yr old to afford. Some day though. I ordered the 18X9's. They were the last set (4) they are ever going to have as they are on clearance. So I had to get my order in QUIK! But they're mine. I haven't heard anything about the availability of the GT3's though. They are idiots over there though, I think they just search some retarded database for tire fitment, and availability. I asked about the Kumho 275/35/18's and he said we can only gurantee that 245's will fit. I said, thanks, but I KNOW the 275's will fit.

I only ordered the rims from TireRack and not the tires because the guy i'm selling my stock rims too isn't paying me for them until he picks them up next weekend and I need his cash to pay for the tires... So I'll order the tires locally and pay for them on the spot when they install (hopefully) Discount Tire had a pretty good deal, but not that great.

What deal are you talking about that you can get from TireRack?? I'm still interested, and if you can help, it would help me out alot. Thanks.

I found a deal today. $170 a tire, $793 installed out the door for 275/35/18's. It's the best I've found for an 18 in tire. I'll have my rims and tires on by next friday.

Thanks all!

I ordered a pair of Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712's for my front wheels and had them put on today. They are awesome, they have almost eliminated the front end wander. Does anyone know if they are made in 315/35/17 for my rear wheels? Tire Rack and everywhere else I looked does not have that size.

I see this as a better deal anyway, cuz where i'm getting the wheels from they are also going to rotate my tires and balance them for FREE for the life of the tire, and you can't get that from the Tire Rack

Hey Jon, Sorry but haven't check this thread in a few days! Glad to see you got the last set of Integrals. They're gonna look great on your 35th instead of those funky looking 35th wheels.

As I said before I probably could have gotten you a better deal for the Kumhos 712 but I understand what's it like to play "float the money" game when I was in my 20s...(but I never had a 35K car in my 20s though)

I still have yet to find a wheel that has not been on back order until late June so I think I'm gonna hold off until the GT3 are in stock again!

Hey man post a pic of those phat SSRs when get them on!

I sure will post a pic when they are on. That's too bad that all the wheels you like are on back order.
Those GT-3's will be well worth the wait though.. They are SWEEEEEET!!

You hit it on the head when you said i'm playing the Floating Money game. Gotta do what you gotta do though, right?

Ya, I'm lucky to have the LE and i'm only 24. I figure better enjoy it while i'm young. The only thing I hate is going to shows and getting grief from the older guys.. but whatever, I blow it off.

Good luck with your rims!

Hate to burst anyone's bubble, but I've heard some bad stories about Kumho Supras when they get hot. They crack and all sorts of things... I hope you don't plan to Auto X or have them on the rear during burnouts
