Hey all..I just bought my first LS Car last week. I got a 2000 Firehawk # 223. 63000 miles, 4000 on the new LS6 Block/ Heads. 6 speed very fun car. I use to drive a 87 GTA Trans Am..now This is my baby for a while. Just thought Id post a few pictures of her..Spent 9 hrs the first day I got it wet sanding and buffing..Not perfect, but Nice Weekend car. Needs hood and front bumper painted..clear coming off and a scuff..but Ill get aroudn to doing it. I would like to add some Vette wheels but dont know what I want yet. I cant get the car to hook.. Some BMR stuff should be helping with that next week.
On the Wheels..18s? Too Big?? It needs to be lowered I think..but with 18s that might make it look better IDK ****..

Welcome a'board', ..., ![Thumb](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/thumb.gif)
Get it registered over at firehawkowners.com & sign-up at messageboard.firehawk.org
Are you aware that someone has changed the original color of the 'Firehawk' decals?
I believe they should be silver with a charcoal tilde of the 'i'.
Some people do it just to be different, or they just don't like the original color scheme.
The OE Firehawk wheels are what help make it, ..., If you change them, you'd better put them away for safe keeping, or sell them off as there may be someone looking for a set. Do they have the barrel pitting problem too?

18 for sure...make sure you get at least an 10.5 in wide rim on some 305's or 315's....if you drop it on wide tires, you will then need an adjustable pan hard rod and i hear relocation brackets are good to.

Whats a good set of springs? Eibach? thats what Iv looked at. What shocks? Whats the reason to replace shocks with new springs? My BMR stuff should be here in a week or so..had to send stuff back off my third gen so I could make this turd hook. Been working on an 87 GTA for a few years now its just ganna have to set of a while..I would like to know what the orginal color of the stickers should be, having a hard time. From what Iv seen it should be like grey or silver..but if I do that I think I want some wheels to match like the Deep Dish Z06s or just some reg Z06 gunmetal with a polished lip..idk heres a few pics that I kinda like.

If I dont get new wheels, Really want some FM5s but too much for a 20 yr old..but I might have my wheels widened to 11in and then sand the inside smooth (kinda lookn crapy) and paint them black to match the car..I really wnat to see how it would look just lowered..
Will I need shocks if I drop the car?

Some Firehawk people have taken the wheels & had the barrels reworked then powder-coated or painted black.
(I persoinally wouldn't paint the spokes black tho, ..., Black Wheel Haters Club, member #9.)
The decals should indeed be silver with a charcoal tilde.
If you want new ones, PM me for a source.
If you have money to spend on suspension, my first recommendation is Sam Strano.
Depends on your intentions with the car too tho. Wanna SCCA SOLO II? Wanna 1/8-1/4 mile car? Wanna nice daily driver? Too many options to make any recommendations on specific parts until everyone knows more.
You can get away without new shocks.
What were the factory SLP options on the car? Did it get the Bilstein or 1LE? (Most likely not if you're complainin' about the 4x4 look.)
Watch the For Sale ads & pick up a set of used 'Pro-KIt' springs, or others, if yer on a budget.
