Custom Center Console Lid ?

Anybody make, or know where I can get a custom center console lid ?
I've went through 3 since 1999, and those Damn flimsy lids cost too much!

I wouldn't mind spending the money on a nice looking sturdy one, that would last!

Any suggestions, besides don't lean on the lid so hard?

I made one out of foam and then covered it in fiberglass. I used the original hinge. I made mine because I wanted it to be silver and it needed to be hard like the front prrtion to look right. I hope that makes sence. I also shaved the cup holder & ash tray while I was at it.

I wonder how one made of wood would do? Shape up a 2 x 8 and cover with foam and vinyl. Think anyone has tried it?

Might be a bit heavy for the spring to keep the lid up maybe.

My lid is still ok, don't lean on it so hard

I just need to fix my hinge pin to keep it from sliding around and launching the spring across the car all the time. I think my car is just trying to attack me
