Default Pic of new "painted headlight" mod.. :)

First off, thanks to Andy (XSTA Z28) for the idea.. Im not sure of the silver color so I might change it to a charcole grey metalic..

Pretty easy.. remove the headlights.. dissasemble all the extra parts off them.. remove the bulbs and be sure to plug the holes to keep paint from getting inside (i used a cork).. I then used a small hand sander to remove all the casting marks and such from the casing.. mask off the unit and spray.. then spray again with clear.. reassemble and reinstall.. Here's the result:

<img src="http://members.aol.com/steven0932/headlite.jpg" alt=" - " />
A pic of whole deal:

And just cause I'm bored.. a new pic of the back:
<img src="http://members.aol.com/steven0932/Camaro9.jpg" alt=" - " />

Have fun.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Todd I think I like your engine compartment better than Steve's. Those FRC decals are the **** man! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

Uh oh Steve.... competition! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" /> Look, his is supercharged too. Yours doesn't have a supercharger, does it? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" />

I AM going to get them.. but it a low rush deal since I wont be able to put them on until the next time I pull my FRC's for a stage I cleaning (schedualed for August).. I guess I could add an engine detailing to my Stage II cleaning in June <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Nope, no supercharger............ yet <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="gr_tounge.gif" /> -- Actually Im very glad to see you can still fit the FRC's with the ATI unit.. I was concerned about that.. did you have to notch the drivers side front cover??

Oh, fuel rail covers are from Fast Toys (made by fbody concepts about $200).. the decals are from.. well im sure you can guess that one <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I think I will order the decals tomorrow so Mark will leave me alone!! lol

I had to trim around the FMU for the drivers side FRC to fit.

--------------------------------------------------

What color do you guys think I should paint the back of my headlights?

I am thinking...

#1 Choice Silver.
(To match the SS FRC Decals LOL) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

#2 Choice Black.

--------------------------------------------------

Kind of funny, I can go a little faster than you but I can't stop. Can I borrow your brakes. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Hard to tell from this pic, but there is some space around the FRC and the FMU, still thinking I may need to take a little more off.

Silver is good.. but not black.. that would make it look like a big hole..

My second choice would be a dark charcole metalic grey.. Plasticoat makes a color called Cast Iron that is very nice.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Oh, and im for sure getting the decals <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> Cant let ya woop my *** too bad in the "spiffy engine" catagory <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

You should loose the factory stickers on the strut tower.. i doubt the belt routing instructions are very helpful to you at this point anyways <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> It really cleans up the area (and gives you a good spot to be creative) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> - you also need the radiator cap and oil cap from MBA.. your engine area is VERY nice <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

Now that I see your car with a ATI and the FRC's im leaning even more tword a supercharger <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

So many mods.. such little time <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

You know I have always been a fan of your car Marks, Andy's and many more.

Dark charcole metalic grey sounds good, so does silver. May make my wife choose, know what I mean. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> LOL.

I am working on the removing the belt sticker etc. My cap for the radiator and polished dip stick top is due this week. I started on the left side first.

<img src="http://communities.msn.com/isapi/fetch.dll?action=MyPhotos_GetPubPhoto&PhotoID=nGAA AAAEF7TEM7a66WE2hp5shuaZr!otbA7MlUH0mOATGliRDEFb7T !kDAABmAAIA" alt=" - " />

If you go with the ATI Supercharger, get the polished plenum it is a nice touch. Email me for a few tips about the system.

Time is the ememy, I agree. It took me a little over 30 hours to install the supercharger alone. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

I wanted to chrome all of the ATI intercooler piping, brackets, and have the supercharger polished - have to wait till fall no time now. Then the mirrors under the front of the car for displaying will be awesome.

I am still going to tackle the mandrel pipe bending process to replace the rubber hoses that attach to the chrome intake plenum before summer ends. The new piping that will replace the hoses I will have chromed. I will attach the new chromed pipes with 4" long red silcone hoses to the plenum. A little red accent to match the baker hose.

Then a few details more and I am finished the engine compartment.

Paint scheme next, interior, brakes, rear, you know, on and on.

I have some catching up to do with you and some others. I finally am starting to complete my dream, Show and go car!

Sorry to babble,

Todd
