Default New cluster?

Do any of you have a new guage cluster? The new ss I got had these terrible NU Image flame overlays on it. I ordered the Specialized stainless pieces in the hopes that I could peel off what was there. Well someone has discarded the factory black background....so I have a bare cluster. I guess if anyone has a new cluster that I could get repprogrammed by GM or where to get a new sticky factory background would be great! Otherwise I guess Ill have to order a new cluster.

I know Specmo sells GM clusters, I actually think they make them for GM. I bought my Denali cluster from them. They also programmed it to my mileage. I'm not 100% if they make F-Body clusters but if they did, and I needed one, that's where I would get it.

6LE makes them and when you order them they're direct replacements meaning they replace the hole factory peice. You can also find white faced gauges on ebay all the time that replace the whole thing.

Does dealership have to recode them for the car? If I buy a used one can it be recoded? I had to take my needles off to get this plastic pos back off so mines completely outta whack (who knows how PO got it recalibrated). My car has 23500mi is it saved in computer or on cluster?

I would just make a post asking if anyone who bought a set of my overlays wants to sell you their old one... Just make sure it is the right year... 1999+ are different than 1998.

Then just buy a used cluster on ebay. Your odometer is EASILY swapped over, no need to recode...

If there is anyone with a laptop tuner they can calibrate it for you. Stock calibration is off anyways...

So as long as I can get a cluster out of another SS 00-02 I can just plug her in? Do you just swap the black odo moduel? Or is there programming needed to move mileage?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-02...ayphotohosting Like this one?

The odometer screen has a ribbon and it just unplugs and then you plug it into the other cluster...

Don't really want to hijack, but is there a place where you could get new clusters? That Specmo place seems like you have to be a dealership.

Yeah, I found the one I'm looking for on there too. I couldn't find it on GMpartsdirect though, which is weird. I wonder if anyone has dealt with NewGMParts.com

I highly doubt you'll find one from GM the way things are right now... We've been waiting over a month for a friggin power steering pump.
