I finally found an OEM SS hood after looking for months... it goes to paint wedneday..

Ya i thought about the manta and the berger pannal but not the entire hood, too ricey looking for me.

I thought of that, where do people get the manta decals, or do they just paint them???

You can do decals or paint, not sure how good the metallic painted color decals look.
I played around trying to give u an idea of how it would look, it was done in MS paint so I did my best:

I think he was planning on painting the hood red and doing the manta black.

I've seen a car in that exact color do the black hood with red manta though - I didn't like it much.

IMO our cars dont look good with black hoods because of the front bumper cover. The old school cars that had they had a flat front end so right after the hood was the grille, no extra paint to make it look bad.
