I am getting tired of sliding around in my stock leather TA seat so I am starting to look around for a race seat. I DD the car in the summer so I am not looking for full out seats that make you hate life after sitting in them for a few minutes, just something that has good bolsters for cornering and are comfortable. I also do not want to loose head room since I am about 6' 3" and don't have a whole lot with the stocker. I kind of like the look of the Corbeau LG1 but when I did a search I found a thread from like 4 or 5 years ago saying you actually loose some head room with the way their bracket is designed. I was wondering if this is still the case. I would appreciate any other options for someone my size without sacrificing to much comfort as well.

i just got a set of APC seats after doing research for over a month. i didn't have a big budget for seats so i found the best for the money. they are nice cloth with carbon fiber vinyl inserts, and are the same height as stock seats. i haven't installed them yet, waiting to make brackets to mount them in.

I'm 6'3" and put some race type seats in my car and took them out. I was able to use the factory power seat brackets and had to use some flat bar stock to connect the seat to them. My problem was that even with the seat lowered all the way it still sat a inch higher than stock because the way the lower seat pad was made. Also I wasn't able to fold the seat all the way forward so the young guys could get in the back, the top of the seat hit the roof and that was with no headliner. Just something for you bigger guys to think about.....

Ha! I'm 6'6" and 280 lbs., it's hard for me to imagine losing 100 lbs., although I do have A LOT of metal in my body.
I took my stock seat off of the slider and set it on a pillow on the floor. It's the most comfortable car I've ever been in that way. I'm planning on taking the car into the shop to have it mini-tubbed and a roll bar installed. I figure when I have it in there I'll have a custom seat mount made so I can at least have the seat bolted down!

And i thought i was the only big guy on here,I'm 6'2 260lbs.Contact any seat company that makes bolt on seats and tell them your waist size see what they have will fit you.And don't use apc seats they are good at breaking scca here won't let anyone run with them.

Like I previously said; My seats are sitting on a pillow on the floorboard until I build a custom seat bracket. I'm still in the designing phase and THIS THREAD has helped me out a bit. it would be really easy to modify this setup to move your seat back a few inches. What's taking me so long is I'm moving my seats down and back.
