then decide if you want to fill in your holes, do that.
clean, sand, clean some more
adhesion promoter
i don't think i even used primer because the adhesion promoter acts as a clear primer
then your paint, and then lots of clear.

The guy that recently traded his G8 for the SOM Firehawk Formula...his car had the bay painted with the engine in. I saw it last year at the TA Nats and looked it over...if you dont look real close you couldn't tell it was done with the motor in. Find the pics he posted and it will give you an idea of what SOM would look like.

nice.it looks good. what would u rate it out of 5 stars?
Our SOM engine bay's color sucks. they dont look anything like the exterior color.well they do,but they have a diff. shade due to not having the clear.I'am sure u know what i mean...thanks for posting that link.

As for the mod I would say it is a 5 STAR mod! It looks 1000000Xs better than stock. I would do it in a minute except for the Jim Wagners sig on my fender. Even then I am extreamly torn...if it wasnt for the experience of getting it I would. I think the key to it is taking your time, taking out/off as much as you can and getting into the hard to reach areas. 99.9% of the people will not micro-examine it (I did on the car mentioned above because I was interested in doing it myself and wanted to see what they had and hadn't done right.) I painted my bumper support with a rattle can and it looks great so I know it can be done.

I wouldnt want to rate the job on his car...thats not my place. I think it looked great but there was some areas that could have been done better. I suspect the previous owner paid someone to do it and they did it "just good enough"...under both yours and my standards, but not bad for hired work.
