I would not recommend using sanding discs, and definitely would not recommend jumping from 800 to 3000 grit

I used this kit on a yellowed headlight just yesterday. It got the lens clear again but not as clear as new and also, the yellow is still there. LAME!!

you need to get blue magic, it's made specifically for the yellow, and the 3m polish is for the scratches

If it's not working for you, you're doing it wrong. I've used this exact kit on 3 different vehicles and it works perfect. You didn't spend enough time w/ the coarser discs if you still have yellow lights. My lights looked like they had scales on them they were so bad. I used the 3M kit (and some Meguiers Plastix) and they look brand spankin' new.

I took my time and used the whole kit on one headlight. It didn't get the yellow out. I copied the 3m demonstration vid exactly

I know ive posted this up a few times today, but this seems to be a real issue with these cars.

Here is what i did.

I did this last night, wet sanded, then dry sanded with 2000 grit.
Then CLEARED with 1500° clearcoat dupont paint.

Here is the result....
BEFORE:

AFTER:

Cost me $0.00 I had the clear paint and sandpaper left over from other projects.
I actually just sanded, then cleared, let sit for about 30 minutes, and they were on the car over night. Clean and clear now

I took the polish in that kit and put in on an orange pad with my buffer. Worked very well on my brother's avenger.

I just did mine and it couldn't be more simple. I used 320 on a DA sander and took down the little nubs on them, then wetsanded with 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1500, and then polished with a buffer and some Pre-cut cleaner. They looked as good as new. Few swirls and such, but barely noticeable. I then used some sealer glaze followed by a spray detailer (Turtlewax Ice I think) and they actually look better than new. Keep in mind, this is all stuff I just had laying around, so this cost me $0.
