Post pics of the underside of ur ride......especially Todd2001SS!!!
I need to get new pics up since I posted the Borla shots on the lift ect., where I have done more detailing. I will take more pics tomorrow.
This may be long but I want to share what I went through and some of the detail...Scroll down if you are bored.
I sanded lightly the areas I painted. I used black acrylic paint, which almost shines like my outside. I painted the area between the exhaust and bumper including parts of the frame. I did not just blast everything, I left the factory areas that were nice looking untouched.
I painted the heat shield silver, and is very slightly metallic. I re-touched up the heat shield bolts and left them black for accent.
I taped off, and made a continuation of the black undercoated area under the spare tire and the drivers side, in a concelled area. I did not want to remove the factory undercoating and repaint it. I sectioned the undercoated part to end where there were natural right angles for a nice clean looking finish. There is a spray paint undercoating product from a can that has a gloss black paint mixed in to it for a nice finish.
The axle is next, it looks nice but there are a few runs. I am going to tepaint areas of it.
I painted my "Y" pipe and cut out with black engine paint.
The rest of the car is just clean.
Here is a detail of the clamp, spacer, chromed bolt and nut on the Borla...Now you know why I had to do the above work...

Hanger strap with polished rivet, again, chromed bolt, nut, washer...(tip-use testors clear model paint and brush the bolt threads to help prevent rust)The area to the right behind the tip is where I repainted the undercoating...not shown here.

Here is a link to my pictures of the rear suspension! Photo Album
The stock Dual-Dual has been polished, the rustyr rear axle has been coated with POR15, and tons of fum BMR products added.
Enjoy!
Hey Xta Z28: Did you spray or brush paint your rear axle? I'm getting ready to do the same thing to my SS. Thanks, Jay

I brushed on the POR15. Used various sized brushes to get around details I didn't want coated such as the brake lines.

Great job as well Xsta, I wanted to ask, I saw you had a BMR Torque arm, did you notice a lot of difference? Was it worth the $$$?

Yes a little, but with 18" wheels I throw it all away! I have not drag raced the car since I installed it. I am an appearnce fool, and that was more of the install reason.

I at least need the mods you have Andy to go with my supercharger decore. Show and shine is the most fun IMO, a good looking car is awesome.
