Damn I'd love to do this to my interior. Can the round vents in the trans am be dipped? Probably not since it has moving parts right?

this is the ONE thing i've been wondering about since his thread got started, amd i haven''t seen any one ask. So, i was curious, what kind of prep work is needed before the pieces can be dipped. i was wondering if certain things might need to be sanded, but wasn't sure since ot was never mentioned. so now that i see you will be sanding things, i just wanted to get that cleared up. 1) what exactly is necessary as far as prep work. 2) if any, is that part of the cost

So it's not rigid enough. Alright. So if I was able to make or acquire a rigid version you would be able to do it. Just gotta find a console lid to sacrifice and some mold-making materials.

That's exactly what I was thinking. A discounted price on a full CF interior package would be awesome. Not too sure how many people would bite, but you know it'd be bad ***. Honestly I don't think I could afford it right now, but if I could I'd love to redo my car interior this way at some point.

Prep work will require sanding and priming on parts with heavy textures. Smoother parts will require priming.

Due to consistency reasons and knowing what materials are used for the process from start to finish, I think we'd like to do all the work. I am not sure about this yet, but we need to discuss it. I just don't want to open a can of worms and tell people they can prep them and I'll do the rest because eventually, people will send me horribly prepped parts that I will end up putting more work into in the end.

Preliminary pricing - keep in mind these prices may change. We may be high or low on some items, but off the top of my head, these prices are ballpark due to the size of the items, and the material needed to finish the part.

Also keep in mind we will have a minimum order of $50 for anyone because we do have to get the paint guns out and mix paints and clean up. These prices include work and materials only - not parts. You will be responsible for providing your parts to us and in a clean, unpainted (unless factory painted) state. If you want us to order a new part for you, we can at an additional cost.

98-02 Camaro:
Vent trim rings: $30 each
Radio trim bezel: $80
Gauge cluster bezel: $60
Console tray: $115
Handle trim: $40 each
Window/lock switchplates: $25 each
Door sills: $175 a set
Aftermarket Airlid: $100
Lower Airbox: $150
Intake manifold: $150
Rear panel (Berger Panel): $200; we have to prep a previously painted surface

98-02 Firechicken:
Radio bezel: $50
Gauge cluster bezel: $90
Console tray: $115
Handle trim: $40
Window/lock switchplates: $25 each
Door sills: $175 a set
Aftermarket Airlid: $100
Lower Airbox: $150
Intake manifold: $150

We are still getting pricing for other things, but we wanted to get you guys some real numbers. I'd expect a 1-2 week turnaround time, but we can expedite for a rush fee if you need something in a hurry. We will not ship anything until at least 3 days after clearcoating because we want it to be fully cured.

Is there a difference in the gauge cluster bezel between the camaro and firebird to justify the difference in price? Just a curiousity because I honestly don't know if they are different.

They are different. The Firebird bezel incorporates the left side of the dashboard into it. It is about the size of the Camaro bezel plus the driver's side vent trim. We just thought this was the fairest way to price it for both cars.

Thanks, Roger

How would you recommend to clean the parts before sending them in?

We are going to clean them here for our process, but we would really like to see any grease, or armor all, or any thing like that, off of the parts.
I would think that washing them off with a grease cutting type of dishsoap would work for the most part. Then we will clean them again here, for the paint preparation.

Thanks, Roger

Is this stuff durable enough for exterior pieces? Dipped wheels would look killer.

We will be doing it, we are pricing all items for the 2010 camaro in the next few days. We just wanted to get the 4th gen prices out first. That 2010 cover is most certainly on the list.
We can release prices here, for the 2010. Buyt they will be more extensive on camaro5.

Thanks, roger

Pretty simple pieces to do. Likely $80-$100 for both. We haven't discussed those among ourselves yet for pricing
