tried a diff. way to restore headlight, critique please!

Default tried a diff. way to restore headlight, critique please!
ok so ive seen everyone sand then polish hazy lights, well ive been experimenting with using a clear coat to finish them off, tell me what yall think
Process: wetsand with 800 grit to start, then move to 1000 and lightly spray with regular rattle can clear coat..
i was impressed and only took 15 min!!

looks like you oversprayed the hell out of the bumper? but the lights look nice

clear coat should hold up fine, i 've used dupli-colors auto clear top coat for several light projects. whenever i've done anything with the lights i always respray them clear, leaving them looking brand new just from the spray. wetsand/buff and you'll have an eaven better look.

yeah i was in a rush and over sanded over to the bumper, its not over spray, next time ill try to sand and buff after the clear, thanks guys

looks good. i took mine to the body shop that painted my brothers 69 and he was against clearing them because if you get rock chips or anything the clear will start to peel and i would have to get them redone, so he just sanded and buffed instead.

I think I am going to try that. I have sanded mine but the buffing part did not turn out so well.
