Believe it or not, these things would come in handy even driving on a cool summer night with the T-tops off. Just enough to keep the chill off.

I know this thread was made a while ago, but for the wiring is it just a power and a ground and then run the swith to the heating elements?

I'm in on this. Maybe the wife would like the T/A seats more.

She hates them.

A. hog rings do not need to be cut, they can be unbent relatively easy with 2 pairs of pliers.

B. They can be reinstalled the same way, you don't have to have a set of hog ring pliers, even though they are only about $15 new.

Well you didn't take the seat apart so you wouldn't know. The majority of the hog rings are buried in the foam. Therefor you cannot see them. If I was to jamb two pairs of pliers into the foam, I would have ripped it all up and destroyed it.

Why reuse hog rings when they are so cheap. And second, the zip ties work much better.

Perhaps you should market your brilliance to the car manufacturers and you my friend could be rich. Truth is you have no experience with hog rings and took no time to learn so you just destroyed them and replaced them with every ghetto shadetree mechanic's best friend.....a zip tie. Congrats on your ingenuity.

Leave it to some ******* to try and ruin my thread. You obviously could care less about installing seat heaters so why even enter the thread?

The truth? How would you know? You talk like you know me. I actually own 3 muscle cars, all 69's and I have replaced the seat foams and covers in all 3 of them, and guess what, I used hog rings. I also sell restoration parts for GTO's and FIREBIRD's so I definitely know more than you.

Secondly, you talk like HOG RINGS are expensive! They are less than a penny each! Haha!

The foam on these seats and the other material holding them together was very brittle and also ripped (look at my pics again). THEY WERE NOT NEW, therefor the zip tie worked better at controlling the amount of TENSION that was applied to the material to give it the right amount of pull. The hog rings would have ripped the brittle material.

If you were so smart, you would have created this thread but you obviously aren't. Instead, you come in here and tell me how I should have done it. Go ahead, take my idea and do it better. I dare you to attempt something you know nothing about.

Thanks for your contribution. I am sure everyone has followed your advice to the T. Your a douche bag with nothing to offer.

PWNT... /thread. hahaha.

On another note, I am going to be doing this to my new seats this winter. My girlfriend doesn't particularly like riding in a car with no heat, therefore I decided this might help take the edge off. ha. Props for the clean setup with the buttons as well.

I appreciate your intelligent rebuttal Try searching next time dipshit. I wouldn't give you the satisfaction of posting any links, but for inquiring minds, I won't hind the info. Good day zip tie mechanic.

I just installed a set of Dorman heaters and ran into an issue. After about 10 min on the high settings the heat just stops (light stays on), it will then turn back on and shut back off intermittently. I tapped into the 15A radio fuse on the interior dash.
