faux CF thread?
So what happens if one were to do this and then decided one day you dont like it or you want everything back to stock? Can you use the heat gun and pull it all back off? Maybe have to use a little adhesive remover im sure but Im just wondering if this stuff can be taken off without harming the plastic you put it on.
you probably won't even need a heatgun to pull it off, if you can use your nails. but as for harming whatever you put it on...if there's paint it will either make it faded or chip ..depending on what's painted. I dont' think it would happen if you put it on a car. but on vinyl or whatever.. it won't affect the color .. maybe temporarily and with a little vinyl detailer spray it'll go away.

That was my plan for my car. That's why I wanted to see what this stuff is like first hand, and what it looks like cleared. After seeing it I'm probably not going to be doing it, but I'm still not 100% against the idea.
hell, I'm definitely 100% against putting it on the outside of my car...that's stepping in the ricer corridor. yeah its cool to do it in the interior and maybe the engine bay......but once you start wrapping body panels...that's just wack. It looks like Carbon Fiber....but doesn't quite feel like it....and what...when someone asks where'd you get that CF sail panel.. what're you gonna say...umm actually that's a sticker, it's really cool though right?! ..hahah. if I have time this summer I'll see if I can make a CF sail panel..and not just wrapping an OE sail panel w/ it.. we'll see.

How does this stuff compare to the black vinyl you did your interior with? I tried my interior with the vinyl and fail. I didn't find it very durable either, would cut to easy. Is this stuff more forgiving?

I would not compare this with vinyl. In my world vinyl is for wrapping most of the interior, this i only use for some details. This material is more durable and with some heat you can strech it easier and even more then the superstrech vinyl i use. But i would not like to have whole interior done in this(ricewarning). I really dig the DI-NOC but only to detail some pieces, i dont know how this materal sticks to soft surface- hardplastic panels not a problem but soft i dont think you can.
(I'm re-doing my doors for now since i got so tired of the red insert. I will post it once done).

Oh no, wasn't thinking of doing my interior. I am a less is more kind of guy. Was just curious to the difference. I might do some trim pieces at some point though. Thanks.
