Did any of you guys ground your ballasts? I didn't, but I'm wondering if you have to?

I know these aren't a camaro or firebird, but its a good comparison,

the civic has 4300k, my truck has 5000k HID's they are a little blue in the pictures but has burned off to a very bright white light output.

and here's the color as they have been used a couple weeks

Sorry the daytime pic but I have 6k 35w and if I'm coming at you they look white but when I pull up to my garage it looks blue on the wall. I'd go with 5k 55w or 6k 35w.

Didn't have to ground mine. 100% plug n' play. Maybe if I installed them as an additional source of lighting, separate from the low/highs/fogs, then I'd have to ground them.

What's the purpose of grounding the ballasts?

I just read this on another forum:

"make sure that you securely mount the ballast to the cars chassis by bolting it down. Don't use zip-ties to secure it. This is because you need to give the ballast a solid electrical ground for its case to minimize the EMI that radiates from the ballast."

So I went with 35w 5000K from DDMtuning and Eurolamp housings. I haven't got the housings in, so I just put the fog lights in so far. Here's some 3.0MP cellphone pics.

Just fogs

Also threw in some LED reverse lights the other day to match

I just took these pics about 2 hours ago with my crappy cell phone. Both of them are 35w 6000k.

Hmm, I have 4 sets of HIDs. Two on my Silverado and two on my WS.6. The only set that I have actually bolted down are the ballasts for my low beams on my Silverado. The other three are held on by zip-ties. I haven't had any problems so far.

Both my HID kits came with 3M VHB adhesive tape on the bottom. Just peeled away the strip and mounted them. been about 3 years and still holding strong.

What LEDs did you use and how do they look when they aren't on??? I didnt know how the bulbs would look inside those "bubbles" so those are the only lights that I have that arent LEDs.
