Thanks guys, good to know thats typical stuff. Hopefully I get the coils settled today, I wanna hear it idle!
Since 2, 4, 6, AND 8 are out, its definately somewhere in the coil packs. I'd start with checking the the power wires for each coil pack and see if any of them are getting anything. They have a common power and the grounds all go to the PCM if I remember right. Power is pink, with multiple redundancies in the harness, so I doubt thats the problem, but it could be damaged. Just test the pinks at the coil pack connector and go to ground with it with a test light. That should tell you SOMETHING at least...If you don't find a problem doing that, find the negatives of all the coils and check them at the PCM with a multimeter. Just set it to Ohms with one lead on the PCM side, and the other on the coil pack harness side. If nothing, then the wire is broken somewhere. I'll try and find the pinouts again to tell you which wires in particular to check.

Edit: Also, I know its a PITA, but try to swap the coil packs from passenger to drivers side and see if the passenger side is still the one acting. If it changes to the driver side, you know what the problem is. Its worth a shot. lol

Check:

C2 pin 67 (coil #2) red/white
C2 pin 29 (coil #4) dark green/white
C2 pin 28 (coil #6) light blue/white
C2 pin 66 (coil #8) purple/white

Like I said, just use a multimeter at the PCM on the wire, and find the same one in the coil pack connector, and then see if it isn't damaged.

Thanks Squee, I appreciate it. I'll go over all of that once my friend gets here in a bit. I'm gonna start bolting up the driveshaft and torque arm

Thanks again

they're not talking about beating the **** out of it by running it hard on the streets.

What they mean is literally beat the fvck out of the part of the car that's fvcked up giving Brian a hard time

did you figure out the issue? i had a stupid issue after my head cam swap. for some reason the o2 wire wasnt happy where it was sitting so i was getting a code so i unplugged it and re ran it and it was fine. this was after going to the tuner and leaving it overnight and having to drive it back home just to move the o2 wire. lol always the little **** that takes the longest.

Ayyyyyo. We just screwed around with my coil packs.. everything is getting equal readings now with the multimeter. We're gonna go back out now and see how it runs, look a few more things over.

AS FAR AS I KNOW everything is good now.. but we'll see.

Just inside for a **** break LOL

Lmfao. Well, we got it running and everything was fine.. then the codes came back after it was running for a bit. I'm thinking theres a loose ground somewhere.. we were wiggiling all the wires on the back of the drivers side head (grounds) and then everything worked. Something probably moved after all the startups.

HOWEVER.. I WILL have some videos for you guys later.

Well we fixed the problem! Thanks to whoever invented digital multimeters.. we noticed we would randomly have power/ground to the passenger coil packs at any given time after screwing around with some wires. So we sat the multimeter on one coil pack, and jiggled the main coil pack connector, and boom, it would randomly cut out.

After taking off some of the tape on the main connector, we narrowed it down to the ground wire on the connector. My friend Brian pulled the wire out, made the pin a little tighter, and sat it back in. Problem solved! Now when we move the wires around, all the coil packs remain powered and have sufficient ground.

Pretty much EVERYTHING else is on the car.. once it's light out, back to work... and out for a drive

Now what you've all been waiting for.. I hope you all have a change of pants handy
