Default Making a widebody kit?

Anyone know how this can be done? I work at a body shop so I have access to tools. I was thinking about buying a Camaro just to play with and try the idea out. Would it be hard to recreate something like the dick harrell camaro?

I searched a little bit, I saw he had the molds and everything ready but there wasn't enough interest. Sucks because it would be sweet to build.

I have some money coming in soon so I was thinking about getting a cheap Camaro just to try it out. If it turned out nice I was going to buy some Z28's and build cars to sell. Maybe Mcnord and I could team up or something.

Just kinda toying with the idea. I think the cars look sick, I was hoping to maybe buy a Z, do a complete Dick Harrell clone and then hopefully break even when I sell it.

there is a kit on ebay you can ues. its like 4-500 for all 4 panels. but they arent perfect, and will require quite a bit of work to get them to look right. look up McNords post in the paint/body section, "Oh No, not another wide body thread", or something like that.

like 02camasoSSLE said, 6le is working on a widebody kit based on McNords, that will be a better/easier kit than the ebay one.

but, you could always fform your own out of foam/fiberglass for a fraction of the price, but requiring a LOT more work. i'm considering this option depening on my funds when 6LE comes out with theirs

Trans Am's already have that wide look, the green one doesn't look too bad but it doesn't belong. There is just too much going on with 98+ Trans Am's.. The white LT1 bird looks pretty good though..

I thought 6LE backed out though? I would want a kit that matches the Dick Harrell cars perfectly, I think mcnord sort of did his own thing. I will search for his thread later though.

The green ones not to bad, don't like how they molded everything together. I think if you did the rear only and started were the door starts flaring back out it would look pretty bad *** but only about an inch wider

Nope. Just doing it in stages. Hopefully sending the bumper off for tooling in a couple weeks, then finishing up some other stuff and then tackling the tooling for the WB's...

yeah the T/A's really do have the wide look already.

McNord used a kit, but had to do an *** load of work to get it to work. the kits have a LOT of design flaws, especially for something that costs 4-500 dollars. i dont think 6LE has backed out, but its probably on the back burner wit all of the other stuff they have going that they seem to be a bit more focused on. but i dont think its a done deal.

No, It will look like my car with a couple of revisions. I will be bringing the bottom portion out to match the top better on all 4 corners & there will be no spoiler molded to the quarters.
