Default Do 3157's work in reverse housings? Question about fogs too.

I see that 1156 is needed, but I heard from various people that 3157 LED towers will fit? True?

Also, what are the options available for Firebird/Formula fog lights? I recently got LED towers for my DRL's and my fogs look terrible compared to the bright white of the LED's. What are my options here ? Is it possible to get LED bulbs that fit fine for the fog lights? Thanks guys!!

I put 1156's in my reverse lights. Someone just posted here recently with 880 LED bulbs in their fogs, but it took customization. Maybe find some HID's, they are plug and play, just a bitch to get to under the car.

How much do those go for? Are they a whitish/bluish color or do they still have the yellow tint look like the other factory lights? I am looking more for appearance to get rid of that yellow tint. If those will get rid of that those sound good.

They are halogen bulbs. They won't be pure white/bluish unless they have a color filter and that reduces lumen output.

I believe the pack was $10. I got them mostly to help me see at night with my 5% tints. They don't have a yellowish look to them.

I have 5% tint as well. Does it really help?

I have 20% and just threw in some 3157 32LED SuperWhite LEDs, at $14 each (plus shipping), and they don't do poop for me when looking out through the tint. From outside the car it looks great & very bright, but with the 20% tint it just sucks. I'd rather have the usable light than the show-factor... (lord knows having a damaged bumper looks worse than having halogen reverse lights for 10 seconds at a time).

that's my two-cents worth.

I actually have 4% tint on my hatch. Yes, 4% . I don't know if even those Halogens will help in terms of backing up. If so, I am definitely going to get them.

Danny, does it truly help in backing up with the 5% tint? Can you actually see where you are going? I saw you got the 3156 style? I thought we had 1156? Or is that just a box showing what they look like? Can you get these at advance auto/autozone? (Most questions ever in a couple sentences )

I first ordered a pair of 1156 LEDs, (followed Sylvania's misinformation) but when I got them I realized they weren't a wedge bulb and i actually needed a 3156/7. I don't know if the one's Danny posted will help keep your inside the car or not... I know I'm sticking my head out right now, but if they are that good (and only 10 bucks) then I may have to pick up a set to compare.

Im confused. The guy above said he got 1156 towers and they work fine. Your saying we need 3156/7. Which one is it?

Yes it definitely helps at night, my parking space is dark and this improved backing up at night with my tints. The books at the auto parts store list the the back up lights incorrectly they are the one's pictured above.

I replied back to your PM about the switchbacks

Can anyone with a 5% tint on the hatch vouch for the LED backup lights? I also can't see when I'm backing up at night...

I have problems with my 20%. LEDs don't produce much usable light.
