Blacking Out Taillights? (Covers)

Blacking Out Taillights? (Covers) I've seen this on two black cars and thats it, but I'd like to give it a go on my red Trans Am, because I think it looks great on the cars I've seen it on. I like the red/black theme, and I'm going to get some Nightshades (think thats what its called) paint to black out my front and rear side markers, and I think if I got some covers for the taillights to black them out as well, that it would look good. The honeycomb look is nice, but I'd prefer for the rear of the car to look more smooth, and the honeycomb breaks it up too much IMO. Just need to know where to get my hands on a set of the taillight covers. Thanks for any help.

You need the AutoVentShade TailShade Blackouts for the 93-02 Pontiac Firebird, Part #33041.
If you visit their website, check the link for the dealer info, there's a pdf file for the application guide. They usually cost about $45+ at your local parts house, but they will probably have to order them in for ya.

I got my AVS taillight covers for $40 at AutoZone. They're not on the shelf, but they can get them in in 3 days. The Camaro ones usually are on the shelf though. If you do get covers, you might want to remove the white "AVS" logos. I used a fine cut rubbing compound (3M Finesse-It II or 3M Perfect-It II, I dont remember which).

sorry this is somewhat off subject does anyone have any pics of these covers on a black car...ive been trying to find something to do to my car appearance wise w/o being too drastic. ive never seen a TA with blacked out lights...if i could find a pic that would help out. thanks
