I just sent a set in for a cleaning. I have done several sets myself and it is a PITA and quite time consuming IMO. I think this an awesome deal if they turn out nice. I'll be sure to show before and after pics for the non-believers.
Here are the before pics:
I'll post the after pics when I get them back in a week or so

I am interested in this but was just wondering if you replace the weather stripping on the lens, or clean them up somehow? Just don't want to get them back with cracked weatherstripping. still a little confused. Do you take the whole assembly minus the brackets or just the lens detached from the housing? This is a great service and the lens look good.

Well, we work on a core basis, so its just a matter of efficiency.. We send you the entire unit, assembled, minus the adjusters and brackets, fully polished. You install them and send us back your dirty lenses, we polish those and send them off to someone else.
We charge differently for non-GM units because if we get a non-GM unit, we have to send it back out as a core. Its hard to justify sending someone a non-GM unit and having them send me a GM piece.

If you have an extra pair, and you already took them apart, you can send me them and I can polish the lenses for you. Wont be a core exchange, but I can usually get it done in a day or two and send it back out.

Mike, I'm local...got any sets in stock I can check out? BUT, i'd like to keep the adjusting nubs on my lens (the "horns"...they're actually so you can put the headlight adjusting tool on the headlights and adjust them instantly, I've done it once before)

Fairly simple. Maybe 5, but no more than 10 mins. on each. You actually just adjust the beam until the pattern matches up in the "aimer". When it's set perfect there's a lens inside that lines up and you know it's done.
Mike...any word on your current turn around times?

Current turn-around time is around a week or maybe even a few days more.
I'm sure I would be able to polish your lenses without removing the nubs, but its quite difficult to get the abrasive paper in close to them without damaging them. I may just be able to polish them with a cutting pad and some aggressive compound though. How bad are they?

I think the whistler mod is going to be a no-go. We just don't want to take on the responsibility of taking headlight assemblies apart at this time. There is just too much of a possibility for something to go awry.
