Talking Headlight polishing service.. Now available.

If you have a 98-02 Camaro, chances are you know what yellowed headlights look like. The plastic headlight assemblies get pitted and yellowed and all sorts of nasty. Worst of all, when they get this way, they also don't allow as much light to get on the road either.

I know 3M sells a headlight restoration kit, and I know a lot of you can do it yourself, but there is one problem with it. The molded in bumps or "horns" on the lens can get damaged and get ugly or basically just get in the way and not allow you to effectively polish the entire lens. It becomes a pain.

To make it easier for you to also get this service done, if your not local, or even if you are, we are offering a "core" option. Basically, purchase the service from us for $100, we would send you a set of polished and de-horned lenses, and when you send us your yellowed, pitted, but non-damaged/non-cracked lenses we would refund you $50. All of our polished lenses come crystal clear and have 3 coats of a protectant glaze on them to help keep them from re-yellowing again.

You will be getting like new, fully polished, de-horned lenses for $50, plus shipping.

PM me for more details!

One example of what we do.

After:

This pricing applies only to non-damaged GM headlight lenses. We will have to asses extra fees for receiving non-GM units for this service.

if i still had some horrid looking stocks (which many do...) i'd be all over this. but i'm good in the headlights department

definitely a good idea though, and worth it for 50 bucks! all i did was screw up the set i tried to restore. but, in my defense, i was doing it all by hand. with a pc i probably would've been fine.

Not to hijack your thread but I've got a quick question. When you de-horn the lenses are you just cutting the horns off and then sanding them down smooth and flush with the rest of the lens, or is there more to it than that?

Are these for the complete headlight assembly or for ONLY the lenses? I am interested in this service. Thanks.

What a great deal! Polishing these things SUCKS let alone getting rid of the injection tabs ("dehorning").

Everyone should jump on this before he realizes how much of a PITA he is getting himself into !

completely agree. u guys would probably make more money offering the whistler option for these headlights. something to think about. but that could also be a pain in the ***.

We may be offering the whistler option soon.

As far as the removal of the tabs, if involves a very steady hand, a dremel and a LOT of patients. Its a process of cutting, carefully smoothing and a lot of sanding and polishing.

Remember, this is for the lens ONLY. Not the adjusting assembly behind it. Be sure to separate your lens from the adjustment assembly when you send your lenses back.

If you do offer this with the whistler option, how much do you think it'll be?

We haven't looked into offering the whistler mod yet, so we will have to evaluate the extra labor and liability of pulling lenses apart for customers and determine a price based on that.
