Armrest bluing
You are probably not going to have much luck as this sounds like UV damage. You can try an interior protectant/restorer like Surf City Garage Dash Away, or others. Just pick one that doesn't leave a gloss finish. Worst case, you have to replace the door panel. I've seen people paint them, but being in a high-traffic area the paint wears through or fades pretty quickly. Do you have a picture of what part is faded?
I painted my interior to rid it of the ugly grey that it had. Its came out well and held up really well so far.
As a last resort I would take my doors apart to where its just the arm rest parts and just paint both of those together at the same time so they matched. get a good coat or two on and let it dry then put on about 2 more coats and put it back on.
If you go light and dont stay in one spot to long, you wont get any runs and you will still be able to retain the texture some.
