I was supposed to have a bolton 4" WS6 hood on my car for the Southern Shootout but but a key VFN guy was sick so we lost a week.
VFN 4" WS6 hood will be ready a week from today.
I think you folks will like how they look.
A few folks might be unsure of the lines... wait till we have pics of the final product on my car and you'll see that the lines are very complementary to the Firebird/ TA body style.
We'll have a VFN GP that will probably go 4-8 weeks, one time only, on both of these hoods as well as on their LT1 offerings.
The 4" SS hood will not be ready until sometime in December. We have a project car here (Henry) who will receive the first one, we will use his car when we go to design the height, rise and shape of the hood.

Are you gonig to wait until they unveil the ZL-1 hood before you do the G/P? or at least until they are closer to releasing them, i want a ZL-1 hood, and my roomate wants the WS6 hood, but i don't wanna drop down the coin until i know the hood can be shipped to me in a reasonable amount of time. I don't have that kinda jack to give away $400/$500 and wait a month for my hood to even be released. Just wondering, and are they going to be similarily priced to the rest of there hoods, i mean most of there bolt ons are around 400 bucks, and i am sure with shipping and etc. that will put us a little over 500, which at that price, we should be able to sell there hoods faster than they can make them. If we posted this on other boards, they could even sell tons more, i know in the Detroit area alone, where i am from, i associate with a couple of clubs, one of which is exclusively F-Body's, and these hoods would sell quickly. As soon as pics of both are available, i could start talking these guys into ordering.
Thanks
Thanks

By bolt on I assume you mean to the stock brackets?
Any guesstimate as to retail/GP price?
Also (never bought a hood) do they come primered?

-Bolt'on hoods hopefully will be like 25 lbs. Stock hoods are typically around 47 lbs (when I have measured them).
-Pin'ons should be 12-15 lbs.
-4" WS6 first hood goes on my car next week.
-We will do a GP that will be substantially cheaper than what the list price will be.
-Underside is braced, decent, paintable.
-Not sure if they are doing normal size WS6 hood.
-4" ss hood prototype might get created in a few weeks. We will come up a with a general design and post pictures, and see if it's going in the right direction.
-Take 30 days for fiberglass hoods to cure.
-Expect some normal sanding for prep.
-We will fit the 4" WS6 hood and look for issues.

I am convinced..... If you can come up with a price I might can get some cash up and see what I can do. Hopefully I will be able to be included in the GP.

WOW!!!Even with paint its still gonna weight 27lbs.Thats not too bad for a bolton...
Thats a solid 20lbs off the front of the car without worring about DZUS clips comming undone.
I think I'll still wait for the CF version to be released.
Its supposed to be 21lbs for a bolt-on in clear....

Well I have the green light to go ahead and get this. I'm looking into repainting my front end as well since it got scratched up and cracked from going over a parking block (don't ask, the wife felt really bad).
I might have some ghost flames done at the same time.
Any suggestions of colors for ghost flames on a pewter TA?
