Cool Detailing: Chef's Summer Toy

Chef got a new car for the summer and it was really fun to work on. Overall the car was good, and had the color I loved! It took some time and a little elbow grease but I think I brought the best out of it and Cheffer seemed really pleased with the results. Being that the previous owner had not seemed to wax it for over a year it came out spectacular.

This was done 100% by hand, no machine.

Process:

Wash- Meguiar's Gold Class Wash
Clay- Mother's clay and their detailer
Wash- It needed it, and dried.
Correction- Meg's Ultimate Compound on Wing and side mirrors
Glaze- Meg's #7 Show Car
Wax- Meg's NXT 2.0 (4 hr. cure)
Wax- Topped with #26 Hi-tech Yellow Carnuba (2 hr. cure)
Booster- Meg's Ultimate Quick Wax

Interior- Vaccume, wipe down with Quick Int. Detailer Mist, Jambs done with Ult. Quick Detailer, Leather with Armor All Leather Treatment

Wheels- Mother's Billet Polish, By hand, and Also worked with a Power Cone.
Tire- Stoners More or Less Tire Shine.

Like said I am very pleased with the results and quite a few have already given compliments.

Enjoy the Pics!

Looks great. I've never thought of doing a cure time. How does that help? Does the wax penetrate deeper or what? Good job!

Thanks everyone.

To clarify, when I say cure. I put NXT on the entire car one shot and it should be about 15-20 mins, then I check the first panel. I do a swipe test. Using a clean index finger, I swipe the wax and if its clean underneath (no streaks) then its ready.

I knock off using clean Terry cloth, then another clean cloth (note 2) I buff off the rest.

Once the car is done, It will sit for 4 hours to cure. I was working on the interior and rims during that time.

Glaze has no cure. Working one panel at a time, you DO NOT want it to dry on.

Terry is what works best taking wax like nxt. MF streaks badly. I use mf for things like detailer and booster wax. Thanks for the compliments

Goodyear eagle on one rear, sumi on the other? Seems like setting a porsche next to a civic in my opinion lol. Curious as to how the rear shot is on this car with the mismatch.

On topic good job with the car Nice deep shine!

Not if you did the job right. The wax layer protects it sufficently. Appreciate the incorrect information.
