Default How do I fit 315s in the rear?

I need to know what backspacing I need on 17x11" wheels to fit 315 tires in the back without any problems. If I get the right backspacing, will I have to roll the fender lip or beat in the wheel well?

U need a 50mm offset with 7.93 inches of BS (back spacing) ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

No mods needed at all to bolt-on to my stock ride height 99Z ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

Here is a link ! <img border="0" alt="[Camaro]" title="" src="graemlins/camaro.gif" />

orange crush,

you didn't have to gring the bumpstop. does that backspacing allow full suspension travel?

Modifying the bump stop is up to you, not necessary unless you plan on pulling a "Dukes of Hazzard" flying jump! You just can't install the wheels with the axle hanging.

Thats not exactly true! You can install them with the axle hanging.

I have a 99 t/a lowered with the Eibach pro-kit, with 17x11s in the rear with zero modifications to the suspension, other than the springs, obviously! I still have stock PHR, LCAs, and did not need to grind the bump stops. It does rub every now and then (only when I bottom out real hard), but is very minimal and have not needed to beat in the fender wells.

...I guess there are always exceptions! Good luck! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I removed my bumpstops. Didn't grind anything though. I can mount the wheels by jacking up one side at a time, but I have to be carefull. If the wheel is rotated in just the right spot, the wheel weights slightly catch on the bumpstop mount. Otherwise no problems at all.

I have seen where people have removed and even ground bumpstop mounting, but it is not necessary !

Some people have said that they could not put their wheels on when car is on a lift and the suspension is at full hang ! The reason being that the bumpstop bracket maybe hitting wheel bead on the inside !

If the wheel U r using has this problem than U will have to jack car from the rear axle while it sits on the ground and remove and install wheels this way ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />

anybody heard of a set of ZR1 replica's that have a back spacing of 6.7 in the front, and 7.397 in the rear, i'm trying to buy a set off a guy that has them on a 3rd gen, with spacers, but haven't heard of these back psaces? i'm getting him to tell me who make them, but AFS' aren't close to those measurements?

Terminology is half the battle ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

ZR-1 replica's are just that, replica's of the wheels found on the famous 90's era ZR-1's they have a model specific offset and b/s (back spacing) which are "NOT" compatible with the 93-02 F-body ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" />

Now the GS (Grand Sport) replica's are wheels copied from now famous 96 Grand Sport Vette and the offset and bs from those wheels are compatible with not only the F-body,but also with some S-trucks with rear disc brakes !

The wheels that AFS are selling are GS backspacing ! So unless the wheels U are buying are using this offset and backspacing I would not buy them !

In my experience wheel spacers are bandaids at the very least. Wheels that need spacers are going to lead to lug and stud problems as time goes by and could eventually lead to catastrophic failure !

So buyer beware ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Here is a link I hope helps !
