That's one ugly Trans Am. I always thought that bodykit ruined these cars. When you add that to the cookie cutter heat extractors put in ****-eyed on the hood and the fact that the "hardtop" looks rough...no thanks

Pretty sure all T/A's were t-top...someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I believe you are right on this. I first saw it and thought, that's not a TA. It's either a Formula or Firebird with TA parts.

I have a 99 T/A and when i ordered mine i had the option of a t/top or a hardtop, the answer to your question is yes they did do a hard top but they were built to order.

i know that car, he's on cardomain. i believe its painted that Cadillac pearl white. If i remember correctly (haven't seen that page in a long time) he or his brother, or something like that, works at a car shop and they did stuff more on the custom side. I remember they also had a lime green Trans Am on the page too, i think it might have had lambo doors.

I think it looks good. Not a fan of the hard top on it tho. And I've always liked those ground effects.

A little detective work;

Member 00firebird - https://ls1tech.com/forums/member.php?u=31166

I'm not sure if it's his car, but he may be able to tell you whose it is, or where he saw it.

I remember that car. I don't remember the members name though or if he is still on here, sorry? What I vauguely remember is that it's turbo'd, custom paint, one off hood, lowered like 3inches or more? And then some, pretty much as modified and customized as you can go before taking it to the extreme?lol Hope this helps a lil? O yeah, as to why he might not be on here any more. Is because he sold the TA from what I remember and picked up a Rx7. From the picture I recall seeing and a brief description. It was also customized and modified and around the same Horsepower range which was 700+.

that car is nice except for the hard top snd it not being a real ta.
Ill bet that white looks bad *** in person. Cameras never really portray pearl colors right!

It just looks half-assed is all. I love the tri-coat pearl. It's a beautiful color and was on buicks and the Bonneville GXP as well.

The camera does ruin the effect as it can show up with a gold or pink in the right light.

It is actually: 93formto98T/A

https://ls1tech.com/forums/member.php?u=40303

The car was originally a 93 Formula converted to a 98+ TA with a ton of other stuff done to it. If you search for his threads you find all sorts of information on it. I think it had one of the few installed GMR twin kits on it.

No they didn't. I think there was one 98 prototype built but show me ONE other one. You cant because there wasn't one.

+1 ^^^ the records show 2 TAs with hardtops but I can only confirm that one. Any others that have been seen are usually hardtop LT1 Trans Ams with an LS1 front clip.
