How does the 90* silicone tube connect/seal to your airbox?

Will it clear a STB?
No pics of that but you can CLEARLY see the volume is WAY more than the stock lid. Just think about it, the stock lid is the same dimensions (except height) as the air filter...

You could fit like FOUR air filters on the surface area of this box...

The 90* tube attaches to a 4" x 1.5" piece of tubing welded to the bottom of the box...

Finally, a normal STB will NOT clear with this however we could bend one up for you that will...

Debating it, but if someone is killing for it, let him have it. Don't save it for me.

I suppose that having this work with an 85mm MAF and a 92mm TB is just as simple as getting different hoses.

I'm excited to see the end product.

Do you have a ballpark pricing estimate? I know a lot of work is going into this so you couldn't say for sure, but can you make a guess at it?

I cut my first hood in 2006, my buddy, Chris, cut his this past weekend. the line forms somewhere behind there.

I like the white elbows concept!

Already going to offer a kit for that. Opening on box is 4" and stock setups will get 2 elbows (both 4" to 3.5") but you can get 4" to 4" if you are going bigger.

$350 for a raw box (no elbows) is a safe bet. That would include shipping and a group purchase could bring the price down.

Powdercoat I haven't gotten done yet but I assume would be $50 max (I only charge what the guy charges me).

Elbows cost me $50-$60 so that is all I would charge extra for them (or you can buy your own off ebay).

Scoops you are better off getting off of ebay (or JC Whitney) as well. I have a mold to make 77-81 scoops but would have to charge $200-$300 (waiting on pricing) for fiberglass and then $400 for carbon fiber AND you still have to factor in the weather stripping (I paid $50 for new stuff off of ebay). Again, better off getting a used scoop with the weather stripping off of ebay (and you can use MULTIPLE style scoops with this setup, not just the 77-81 style).

SO, if you were to buy a complete set up (minus the scoop from me) you're looking at about $450 with elbows, powdercoated and shipped.

A group purchase of 10 pre-orders could easily knock $50 off because we can buy materials in bulk...

FYI: Most shaker kits (for Mustangs, only ones I know of...) run more than this...

679 = karkraft price

CDC shaker setup
from $715-795

etc...

GTO one from dominant was $1500 but that included a hood. Most fiberglass hoods are $500-$700 so that was still $800-$1000 for just the box, ducting and scoop.

What are the dimensions of the intake box? I need to measure my cowl hood to make sure it will fit.

It is at the shop but basically (looking at the engine bay) left edge stops at the right side of the oil filler cap and right side follows fuel line.

About 2" wider per side than the factory lid...

What was your decision as far as sealing the filter? Are you leaving it as is or making some sort of lip? I know you already said it seals pretty well as is, but I might not be using a scoop and just leaving that part up to my cowl hood. I dont want the filter pulling out at all.

It will have a lip that seals the filter in place completely NOT dependent on a scoop...

What holds the scoop to the air box? Also someone mentioned using WS6 hood baffles to prevent water from entering the engine. What would be the best way of adding these (I don't have a WS6 hood, so I'm not sure exactly what the baffles even look like).

Four screws hold shaker down...

For the baffles, you are better off just buying a screen for the scoop...

I dont get how it can pull that much air in with no opening, is the opening in the back? If it's in the back and airs going the other way hows it pull that much in.... unless the holes in the front arent cut yet.

Opening is in the back. Opening in the front doesn't really do jack due to aerodynamics (I know I'll **** off SS and WS6 peeps here) BUT the rear does as it is a cowl induction style and due to the pressure zone created at the windshield it is noticeably effective.
