I find it hard to believe that there would be more air collected from the back than from a ram air style in the front, but if you say so.

Do a search on Google about low pressure zones and cowl induction and you'll understand. Our cars are too aerodynamic for a small scoop to actually get "ram" air which according to all the tests doesn't do anything until well into triple digits where as cowl induction happens quickly due to the low pressure zone at the base of the windshield.

If you are getting out of the f-body business, what are you going to do?

BTW, nice shaker.

Mark's an actor (you might've seen him on "24" ), and I'm in the television industry (I'm a post Coordinator, I run the editing department on Hell's Kitchen) We've both got other "day gigs" so this is just something fun Mark does/ I do on the side

Thanks on the shaker!

So....i want an LS1 now. And i hate Mark . I honestly would love one but not over my LT1 WS6 hood. I think is the perfect thing for an LSX car.

Definitely the nicest lt1 hood, imo.. im having trouble deciding on which scoop to go with if you older f body guys (2nd gen guys i should say) have any input lemme know.

Also, i dont plan on starting a CF thing for my car, so that CF lid is still up for grabs. Mark post pics of that thing

I was always under the impression that the 4th gen f-body's windshield was way too raked back for a decent "cowl induction". On 1st gens and 70's chevelles etc. the windshield was less raked so during movment air would hit the glass and deflect downward creating that "low pressure" zone you speak of. On our cars it's too laid back to do that. If I've been misinformed please, correct me.

I don't have a definitive answer but I can say my engine has run way cooler with the Sunoco on the highway (so cruising, not just because air got to escape at a stop)...
