Have any of the rest of you got your new 6litereater shaker installed yet? Mine is still at the body shop. They slightly modified my bracket and airbox in order to fit it over a tube that appears to be a part of the emissions system of my car. Mine is a 1999 Trans Am, so the emissions system may be slightly different than what some of you have. I'll post pictures once my car is finished. I'm thinking I'll have probably have the only Medium Blue Metallic Trans Am with a shaker scoop and rear window louver as the colour is rare to begin with.

I'm wanting to see spme pics of Camaros with the hoods shut. The only downside to this is that the guys who have a ton of engine bay detailing done, the airbox hides so much of the motos that you can't see all the work that's been put in. Smaller airbox in the future perhaps?

Also, I forgot about emissions stuff since it is off my car

Well I think we found a way to work around it. It required cutting a small section out of the front of the bracket and slight modification to the front of the airbox. Should still function fine. I hated having to cut the parts, but it wouldn't have fit otherwise. I don't think it will be noticable once installation is complete cause the modified areas are on the underside of the assembly.

I have been running around with the shaker intake under my stock ws6 hood. car should be going in the shop next week to get the scoop and hood cut and painted. was waiting on the weather striping to come in. Got to keep the rain out from under the hood

Question about the weather stripping......you are wanting it to 100% seal the engine bay from any water. Are you not worried that when the motor is shaking....it may push too hard on the weather stripping and crack the fiberglass hood or scoop? Something would have to give, and I know my car shakes like crazy at a low idle sometimes!

The weather striping isnt that stiff. the rubber is very flexible which did surprise me alittle. I dont drive my car daily so it rarely see's rain if any at all. This is just for that one day im going to be thankful i have that weather striping lmao. Also the scoop i got from jc whitney is very sturdy and i doubt it would crack unless you stomped on it or took a hammer to it. Mark from 6LE is going to make a scoop and im sure it would hold up just fine to any amount of shaking these little ole ls1's can give.

I just ordered my 6Litereater box, but have been running a shaker scoop with my homemade support for months. If I have the weatherstripping making contact with the hood, I get little to no shake. With the curve of 4th gen hoods, you have to put pressure on the scoop to close it if the scoop is tall enough to be seen above the hood. Does that make sense? I think this is why the Heritage TA's scoop is 30% larger than the 2nd gen scoops. Personally, I like running the scoop a bit lower and allowing some clearance between the weatherstrip and the hood. Yes, some water can get in, but I get a wicked shake. Solution, buy a daily driver and run your shaker-equipped model on pretty days.

Scoops can crack, but I kind of doubt engine shake will do it. I run a steel hood, so I can't comment on fiberglass ones with a shaker. My first scoop (eBay off a '76) had a crack that I found when I sanded the old paint off. It was pretty simple to repair, but was something that came back with some use and I had to fix it again when I repainted the scoop. My fiberglassing skills are novice at best though. I think you are more likely to crack a scoop when it is off the car, or when you are closing the hood, or heaven some bikini-clad honey lays across your car.

Yeah i get what you mean about the curve of the 4th gen hood vs the flat scoop. Im thinkin ill run a flap like 2nd gens did, and ill run weatherstripping on the scoop/hood, as necessary.
