2.5% Tint

2.5% Tint
Anyone have pics of it on their fbody?
I tried tinting mine tonight but the crappy *** tent from walmart had kinks in it and kept causing air bubbles, tried two different rolls and both were kinked to hell. Ended up going to O'reilly's and buying some. Pulled the rolls out to make sure they weren't kinked this time and wasn't in the mood to try it again tonight so if I'm off tommorow I'm gonna have another go at it.
Also anyone know how to get the window out? If its easy then I'd rather just pull it out so I can lay it out on the table and tint it easily rather than fighting with it while the window is installed in the car.

yeah, if you don't want to go through the slight trouble of tinting it while in the car, than what the hell would make you want to take the whole door apart to take out the window and all? that would make you do 10 times more work.
theres gonna be two types of tint, one specifically for "curved" windows, and thats what you'll want. it'll help contour to the window better. As for the tinting process it's really not hard at all, if you just take your time. check youtube, i'm sure theres step by step tut's on there. I wrote up a long *** step by step in a thread months ago, i'll see if i can find it...
Also, 2.5% tint is complete overkill for the sides. i'll assume you've never had any tint before? 5% is a stretch on the sides, hell, even 15-20% is already really dark when combined with 5% on the hatch.

I could not agree more. I can't backup at night for **** and I have 15% on the rear window, 35 on the sides and a 15% strip on the windshield at night in the rain I almost feel like pulling over.
2.5% wouldnt be bad on the rear window alone, nothing darker than 15% on the sides though.

I remember I would have to roll my windows down to backup at night, there was just no hope to see out of the car. Even with the tint I have now and it being summer so no windows down cruising, at night and in the rain I'm really careful when making left or right turns so I don't curb the hell out of a wheel or something, its sorta hard judging the distance even after nine years of driving without a visual reference.

I've had tint before. My Z had I'm guessing 20% already and it was faded and purple and scratched extremely bad and just looked like ****. I don't have A/C so my windows are down pretty much all the time, I'm wanting to keep it cool since I park outside and its always in the sun. If its too dark I'll pull it off and put something lighter on. After thinking about it, I would take it back and get 5% but that kid at O'reillys gave me his employee discount and told his boss that it was for his car so I didn't get a recipt.

I don't think its too hard to put on tint but I still got someone to do mine for me. I don't even look out the back window at night to back up .. useless ... I got 5% on the back and 15% on the sides and think it looks great. I don't have the best eyes either but this setup is perfect for me. I have seen the guy do the back window and forget that ... I would mess up too many rolls trying to do it myself!!

2.5% ... jesus christ. Night shade the damn window, lol. If you're going to tint it yourself, the easiest tint to use is the "PEEL & CLING" rolls at the auto parts stores. They have that kind here at Advance Auto.. I've only tinted windows 3 times, and it came out perfect.

Thanks for the pics guys.
After reading the posts from those of you who thought it was too dark, I was a little nervous about tinting them 2.5% but I figured what the hell and did it anyways and I couldn't be happier. I just need to tint my T-tops or get some shades and tint the back window around 15%. My car used to get extremely hot when sitting in the sun, and with the new tint the temps are wayyyyyy cooler.
