Did you get the pin-on instead of bolt-on hood?

I bought a bolt on hood, there are bolt holes for the hood hinges and the front locking mechanisim. But there no holes anywhere to mount the struts.

I don't run hood struts on mine. When I pop the hood I just prop it open with something.

You'd think for the money you should have that option though

I contacted the Dealer and he said that I cannot run the Hood Struts due to the difference in weight????? I asked him to please send me a Broomstick lol. I can see a difference in the pressure of the strut being too high and it might rip thru the fiberglass, but damm man there should be somthing in the designers mind to allow us to keep our hood open. What do you guy's with the Factory Hood use to keep your hoods open? Maybe I can adapt mine.

With the lighter hood I've seen folks use just one strut. I think VFN actually makes struts for the lighter weight hoods. Look into it. What hood did you buy? I bought an eBay special and it had everything I needed.

OK so I put the hood on the car today to test fit before painting and------------------------- I am dissapointed!! It seems a little small, I will need to squeeze the fenders in and there is a bigger that usuall gap between the hood and the bumper cover. I'm not sure how I will handle this??? The corners in the front where the hood meets the fenders are rounded and they should be squared off-- looks Stupid! It cost me $350 and i will paint it and use it but i would warn anyone aginst purchasing this hood.

Thats why a lot of folks endorse companies like VFN so heavily. They will make things right.

why dont you just make a strut mount out of some angle and just bolt it to the hood and use that. im sure if you take your time you can make it look good just copy the stock design the best you can
