Default Stainless air dam, Emblem pros

I had the nose off working on all the stuff I'm trying to package into the front of the nose and I decided to finally install my Emblem Pros. stainless air dam. I have had this thing for so long I actually forgot about it It was inside the a box of parts, doh!

I wonder how bright it is at night when an oncoming car's headlights reflect back at them... hopefully this isn't a road hazard!

i dont like the idea of metal air dams because stock dams are actually designed to bend or flex when hitting something. id hate to think what will happen if youre lowered in the least, and have to go over a speed bump or steep driveway.....

Yeah I'm stock height and my stock plastic air dam is all scratched and gouged up. That stainless piece is definitely not for a daily driver. At least, not here in Ohio where things aren't flat

If it gets damaged, oh well. Just pull it off, better than having part sit in a box. There is no way this is going to blind people with the nose on the car. You will hardly see any of it with a car that is lowered.

its not just damage to the dam. its damage to the car itself, when it gets ripped out of the mounting points. worse case scenario, it can flap back and knock off your oil filter.

Had mine on for about 2 years now and never hit anything including going up and down the driveway. And our driveway has a curb.
The only Thing I am cautious about is parking blocks. If you pull up to far you can hit them. But you need to go pretty far, I have never hit one yet.

Thanks, Roger,

There is no way your going to rip this thing off your car. The only way that is happening is if you completely F'up and do something retarded. If that's the case then your going have much bigger problems than tearing off your air dam. I can't remember the last time I have scraped my front air dam in the 12 years of owning this car.

I used to scrape mine all the time when I was at college. They didn't know how to design the entrance to the parking deck in relation to the curve of the road. There was no avoiding scraping there.

Then around home and work there are a number of places I still scrape. That's part of the reason I feel I shouldn't ever lower my car as I'd scrape even worse then. I'm a victim of poor road and driveway engineering and upkeep

exactly. my car is lowered, but its nowhere near a daily driver. its so bad, i scrape just getting out of my garage, let alone driveway. i dont even think about speed bumps. if i ever did DD any generation f-body here, id NEVER lower it. way too many obstacles.

My car is still factory setup as far as height goes. There is really no problems with the air dam, we also made a shorter version thats about 5/8 of an inch higher off the ground level.
Now our Z06 we have is a PITA, the front spoiler is only about 2" from the ground, and we have to watch where we drive it. In fact we have to back the Corvette in the driveway, can't pull it in at all.
