thats dope your SOM is... thatd be one of the colors to have fully finished.
my 95 z was arctic white and wasnt coated, my current blue green metallic 00 ta also doesnt (the entire bay is like just the first coat, so it doesnt match at all

That is interesting... Do you think so ones what were clear coated under the hood were a special order, or someone who worked at the factory? my buddy has a green 96 trans am and swore he had it repainted to look so perfect. but all he did was clean and wax it. my 98 formula was not so lucky... It started growing rust at the seems over the fenderwells. so my latest project has been getting rid of rust. welding up the seems. and grinding it down smooth. 6 hours in and I almost have one seem complete... on one side...

Do you mean the underneath side of the hood, or the engine bay?
WS6 and SS cars had clear coats on the underneath side of the hood.
No 4th gen F-body (to my knowledge) ever came with clear coated engine bay.
